A Billion!

The next time you hear a politician use the words "billion" casually, think about whether you want that politician spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into perspective in one of its releases:

-A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

-A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

-A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

-A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate Washington spends it.

Cool but not quite unless you round the numbers down (note these are from the top of my head onto a little pad of paper and they are probably wrong):

60 s x 60 m = 3600 s/h
3600 s/h x 24 h = 86400 s/d
86400 s/d x 365 d/y = 31536000 s/y
31536000 s/y x 44 y = 1387584000 s/44y

31536000 s/y x 2000 = 63072000000s when jesus was around
63072000000s / 60 = 1051200000m from when jesus was around

I dont know what years the stone age was in so Im not gunna go there but you can figure it out yourself.
