I remember how mad I was when I found out they were making a movie about Jessica Lynch and her ordeal in Nasiriyah. The only thing I could think about was how pissed I was when I first heard the news that her convoy had gotten lost when we were in Iraq and that we were sending people to go rescue her. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of other things going on that day, a couple of which I was pretty mad about. The one thing I want to stress is that this is what the marines saw as they lived through those hellish first days. Everything about the A-10, as far as I've heard, was the truth. And I'm not talking about stuff that I heard about when I came home. This is stuff we were told by commanders while in Iraq. I can remember actually hearing the A-10 firing that day, and we watched it fly overhead. We cheered because we thought they were killing Iraqis, which made it safer for us. I felt horrible when I found out htey had been killing Americans instead.

Hmm yea. Kinda sad that stuff like friendly fire happens but its what happens in war. What about Jessica Lynch anyways? Was it really a lie that the mil told everyone about her rescue? It was suppose to be but potato doesnt really believe the braodcast that was aired a week or two back.

seems like somolia all over again...democratic politics f' evrything all up...again...damn...if i were in control of this country...people are like "oh bush this and oh bush that" "he caused the death of these people" no ladies and gentlemen no...if you actually cared about these troops...you would let us go in and carpet bomb known cells of enemy troops...and not give a damn about collateral damage..let the troops do their job....you have a better way...be my guest and do it...how can the eneymy ambush you after they had a flight of b52 fly overhead...i dont know about you but i would be like damn...and the ground force hasnt even gotten here...nice post az people need to be reminded there are more things happening that actually matter...and they dont get made into tv movies...notice how those actually are significant things that are not made into movies

You've had to wait forever for the verdict, but now you don't have to wait for the movie. Blahblahblah stars in, "Brother, Sweet Brother"

I can't stand US media/politics right now. Half the country is running around cursing Bush, or protesting the war. Truthfully, I wish some of the more moronic ones would drop dead in their sleep. When a terrorist group decides to ram two freaking planes into the WTC, another plane into the pentagon, and attempt to crash a fourth plane into something else, you don't sit there and try to talk peace.
When a known lunatic begins to act suspicious (if he wasn't already acting like it before), and refuses you access to anything that might give him away, what do you do? Do you discuss it...and discuss it....and discuss it, right up until the point he decides to put whatever he's hiding to use? I would hope not. It doesn't matter that we havn't found WMD's in Iraq; we toppled a psycho regime, found proof of other countries' treacheries, are still fighting a war on terror, found interesting little things that Iraq shouldn't have, and are generally helping most of Iraq out.

To the media --and anyone else out there that is protesting everything they can--until you can tell us what would have been better to do in the beginning, and what we should be doing now, please shut up. You're not helping anything by protesting the war, the troops, and Bush.

They'll make a movie out of anything. I for one don't give a rats arse aboot it. She's back and safe and I honestly don't care aboot the who's and hows. Especially not when it involves Meredith Baxter Berney or whatever old has been actors they dig up for the movie.

Oh, our proud country at war (coke commercial) captured soldier (Viagra commercial) daring rescue (some feminine hygene commercial) warm welcome home (stay tuned for scenes from the next American Idol). etc etc Bleh, I'll skip it.

KRG is right. I can hardly get the news out of the commercials anymore.
Even on the web, its getting bad.

Then I go to BBC or another counties news and there it is.
Its just so different then what this counties media has made it out to be.
All for the purpose of exaggeration to keep the ratings up.

For an example the other night:
"Terrorist set off nuke, news after this commercial break"

sheesh ...I turned the channel..

Its really amazing that the media is screaming for the US to take more of a world stand after 9/11 and then yet once the US starts to do it they scream that they shouldnt do it or that their violating international law when countries around the world and people around the world do it every day. Why didnt the UN do something about Saddam once he seemed to becoming more unstable? Because they had to debate. All they really do is debate, they debate when someone is killing thousands of people, they have debated and given grounds to dictators and people like hitler (though that was the league of nations) and they have debated and sat on their fat pollitical asses while the middle east (isreil and palistine) blow each other to hell. Restrictions wont do anything. Starving the people of the country or forcing them into economic hard times wont do anything. Itll just make them more and more pissed. And even better, when they do take action they mess it up and ruin pretty muchly the entire situation and any hope of securing a possible negotable position. If you dont know what potato's talking about potato believes that the UN ordered a TOW missile attack the day after 24 pakistani troops were killed in somalia by General Mohamid Adid's militia. These leaders were some of the major Habr Ghidr leaders who were considering suing for peace and ousting Adid. But killing clan leaders in a missile attack sure does piss off the general public.

Overall, the media is puting too much ba news out there. Theres no real reason why there should be constant negative garbage thats only half true floating around the world. In the end the media guys only really want to make money and sell their story. They dont care if its true, if they make $50, 000 from their stories in their news paper compaired to their competors $22, 000 then thats ok. It doesnt even have to be 100% true. They have "sources" after all.

Hey Az do you know a Terry Johnson. I think he is a Captain. He was part of the spearhead. As far as I know he was behind the companies that your article talks about. All I know is he is based out North Carolina and he should be back in Iraq right now. I saw him Labor Day when he was on 30 day leave and was heading to Cali with his wife.
