getting mad

am i forever destined to not have a pleasant gaming experience? I want to play dod *poof* i cant find servers. I fix it...*POOF* steam.exe is missing. I go to play bf1942 *poof* my comp locks up....will the madness ever end??

hmmm, have you tried doing the sacred dance of the chicken? I hear that can appease the steam gods, although you might have to resort to cash for the microsoft gods, that's what they prefer, from what I've been told.

All I say is, Uninstall steam.

Remove Steam's HKey's from your registry-
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VALVE
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE

*Reboot*

Uninstall the entire Half-Life *.* and *Reboot*
Reinstall Half-Life, DOD, and configure the games, Video, Sound, All of the keyboard settings just as you would if steam was not an option.

Download the Steaminstall_full.exe and reinstall it.

After steam is done installing *Reboot*

Read the User Forums at steam's web site.

You really should be good 2 go after this

My headaches seemed to clear-up after upgrading to XP from Win98se.

I had to uninstall everything to do with steam but that was just to get the 1.1 to work #Cussing out
