does anybody have any tips for reducing lag?
ive already tried cl_particlefx 0 and that helped a little. will anythign else help? _________________

What is your connection speed?
Things that seem to work is tweaking your cl_rate, cl_cmdrate, rate, and cl_updaterate. It all depends on your computer and connection, though. _________________

what do those things control? i know what cl_updaterate does but what aboht the others.
i have dsl which is normally connected at around 10mb/s but my latency can be anywhere from 96-around 145. _________________

Why does everyone's highspeed internet have stuff like 10MB/ sec?! Mines like 10 KB /sec at average speed! What the hell its not even highspeed then !

thanx everyone for your help. i think it all comes down to my video card and my ram. i just need more. but your tips have helped enough so i can actually play _________________
