well we all know of the wonderfull and lovely adventures we have with steam...well recently(today) i went to go play on steam and i got this strange and mysterious message... "missing file steam.exe not found"....WTF??? i just got finished reloading it. nothing could have gone wrong, i did eerything correctly, but suddenly....its not there...i mean i know it was done correctly, i was playing for a few mins. yesterday before i had to leave, and comp has been off ever since, password protected hard drive lock, the works...WTF???? so no one coulda got on. Highly doubt it was a virus or anything, first it has to get through 3 firewalls then my own anti virus(when dad works for intellegence you have good comp security) so...as i always say GG Steam and FS!!!!!!

Did anybody do a system restore on your computer? First thing I thought of after your story. Or.. didnt shut down correctly and when it was booting up selected last known configuration that worked.

That is wierd though.

no nothing i can think of, no restore, im the only one with access to comp, me and GF i she didnt use comp, and no, i shut down correctly, i cant figure it out but oh well, i only have 37 minutes till i finish dl the full steam

Ono!!!!! His computer is haunted!!!!!! Actually, I had the same problem when I installed max payne 2. Well kind of, it seems my computer messed up where the exe file was, so the shortcut didn't actually point to it anymore (even though it did it yesterday just fine). I just went and found the exe in the original file again, fixed the shortcut, and blammo, I'm killin bad guys in the sweet ass bullet time once again!

BTW, Max Payne 2 rocks the hizzy!!

i must get this max payne 2...or, matt you beat it already GIMMIE!!!! but no, the wierd thing is, no shortcut no nothing, only the folder with game files in it, no steam files, like it arbitrarely uninstalled itself....its not in my program list or anything, just...gone!

well after 3 days and a few hours i have finally defeated my arch nemisis, steam, TAKE THAT STEAM!!! and as always FS!!! (f***(fudge) steam)
