The Marlins World Series win validates a few things.

1. It made the Cubs look slightly better knowing they lost to the champs

2. That there will be a return to more small ball and stolen bases next year

3. Dahak is celebrating somewhere and No Peace is crying because the Yankees lost. People almost enjoy their rivals losing more than their own team winning. The White Sox fans rejoiced when the Cubs choked and the rest of the country is celebrating (especiially Boston fans) because the Yankees lost (except for bandwagon fans, transplant NY fans and NY fans.)

Grats to Florida. Maybe it will get them the new stadium they desperately need.

I hate it when people don't end their sentences with punctuation.

Rawr! You poor ignorant people. The Yankees are the greatest team ever. The only kind of people who root for other teams are the kind who like to suffer (especially Boston fans ) oh wait, did we lose? Give it up and hop on the bandwagon fools. We will be back next year to pwn all your asses

You got that right Frag. This off season we will see a lot more teams shed high pay rolls and start signing players to more reasonable contracts. Take my Rangers for example, they just gave big spender John Hart the boot. Then elevated Grady Fuson who helped find cheap talent at Oakland for several years. Hopefully they will hang on the up and coming talent like Blalock and Young instead of trading them off for big salaried over the hill players. If this truely happens then maybe I will come back to MLB. Otherwise Fort Worth Cats of the Texas League hear I come!

#1 bandwagon jumper here!

I live in Miami...well Fort Lauderdale...and I'm one of the few that were actually born here.

Until 11 yrs ago we didn’t even have a baseball team.

This town has always been 100% behind our Dolphins....since the late 1960's...and of course as long as they win.

Baseball is a game of statistics and history. Just listen to a broadcast...that’s all they do is telling you how a team and/or individual player has faired in previous situations.

With that said…the town was just starting to like the Marlins when in 1997 they won the World Series. The next week…while we were still enjoying an improbable win, Owner H. Wayne Huzinga disbanded the team and traded away our new heroes. They never even were allowed to defend their title!

Many of players that were received in those trades are the very same players that won the World Series last night. How’s that for an interesting twist of irony?

Hopefully, the Marlins current ownership will keep this team of young players together and allow us…the bandwagon jumpers…a chance to develop some history with our team.
