I got a NERO 5 cd burner. I program everything for the burning and everytime I click on the actual burn all that happens is that the monitor turns off.

Thats the only burning program I have. Like I said I program everything and fill in all the blanks and as soon as I tell it, via mouse click, to actually start burning the monitor shut down.
It should be noted that my monitor, not the pc, has always shut off at midnight and the only way I can get it back on is to power off. And no its not programmed to do that either. _________________

The CD burning software that I recommend is "Golden Hawk". It is the best I have found. _________________

"Golden Hawk" doesn't exist...it is a company however that makes CDRWin, which is not very good IMO
Try getting Nero 6, or update to the latest version of 5 and see if that fixes ur problem, although I doubt it is Nero causing this glitch.
Honestly, the best burning software around is Alcohol 120%, but it can only duplicate CDs, not create them _________________

CDR Win really isn't made for music. I'd recommend Nero over Easy CD Creator 5. EZ 5 has been known to be quite buggy. Nero has been smooth ever since I've gotten it. _________________ Yes, I'm still around

Try this link. I really like their stuff.
Try it you will like it.
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
and for a better ripping format, (quality wise) you can try FLAC. it compresses without losing any information. Kind of like zip files. It does not compress as much as MP3 but if you are looking for better quality over size then this is it.

How come ??? |
I coulda swore you first had said you had EZ CD Creator.
I can answer that. When Nero is in the process of writing the cd. The meter window comes up letting you know of the progress. At the bottom it has a checkmark "automatically shut down PC when done." If it is checked, uncheck it and you should be fine. _________________ Yes, I'm still around
