When are the 'Ville servers going to be on Steam, and when does Steam fully take over?

This may seem kind of a strange question but I haven't been around much in the past few months. Whats steam?

Thanks,

I tried connecting to TV6 tonight and got an error message about needing to be a LAN network (class C). Is this anything to do with steam? What do I need to do to fix it?

Not sure about that. I've been on it several times with no probs. It is experiencing some packet loss so it might of cause an error. Try connecting again.

BTW, I'm hoping that Monday they will have all the issues fixed with the T1. They isolated the problem and have made some improvements over the last few days.

Last night I downloaded the full steam installer (the 723mb one) with all the mods included and had no problems at all. Its running great. I'm very impressed with the way its running.

I had some problems with the version released last week with steam/cs just couldn't get DoD to work right. So.. I uninstalled that and used the full install instead. Been fine.

About the server switchover..

No sure yet.. We not only have to update the servers, but we have to be sure all the plugins that are running are fully compatible with steam. Also.. we have to collect the new steam ids of all the admins and supporters for reserve slots, admin access, etc.

Last thing any of us want is to switch to steam and our servers go from full most of the time to empty. So timing is important here. Either that or wait till we are forced to change

Twisted what that means is that the server you are trying to get onto is a lan game not a open online game and it wont let you connect because you are not located inside the lan.

Why not run an active test. Switch over one of the DoD severs to steam and leave the others as the old style. Then use that server to fix the problems. I recommend using either tv1 or tv4 for the test.

should it not be a slower one?
Considering all I get is an error message about their server being down.
