Yeah I use Trillian Pro and it's great. It works with AIM, ICQ, IRC, MSN, and YIM. |

The only problem I have with "global" IM's like Trillian is the file transfer issue.
If I am on ICQ and I want to send a file to someone on Trillian, I can't. Frag and I have tried a few times to no avail. It just won't accept file transfers from other IM's. Not sure if this Global IM has the same issue or not.
To me, one of the coolest things about ICQ or any stand alone IM for that matter is the ability to rapidly transfer files to each other. It comes in very handy! Other than that, a global IM does eliminate the need for 3 or 4 IM's. I, myself, and I only use ICQ now.

AIM works fine thru Trillian for file transfer. Of course the person I deal with has trillian also. I've also had msn work with it. Dont recall ICQ though. |

It's not about being better than the other one. Trillian is a bit more popular than the others.
I use trillian myself and it works great. It took a little bit to get all my settings the way that I wanted them was the only downside. With the regular IM programs it is a little more simple. Having 5 all together you have more adjustments.
