I am really pissed sinced this scewed most of the mods I play.

But dont worry, they are looking at $10.00 per month so you can ply the mods.

1) I'd be very surpised if WON disappeared completely in 2 weeks. I think I read that a "death date" has not yet been set. Unfortunetly, I can't find any links to back that up.

2) You don't pay to play on Steam unless you do not own Half-Life or CS-Retail or DOD-Retail or Opposing Force. Even if you don't own any of those game, you can purchase them from Steam for a one time fee. AFAIK, the "pay to play" method is only for people who buy Half-Life 2 and don't want to buy the boxed version. The fee for this is supposed to be around $10 / month. The only 'benefit' for the pay-to-play method is that you'll be able to play any new Valve games when they are relased, at no extra charge.
