Ok, just so I can get this solved!
Location: Warpath outside respawn in front of command point 4.
Problem: If I build an sg or mg right at the top of the stairs while leaving room for players to pass on the side of it, is that kosher?

The placement for the sg is spectacular! And it doesn't cause any problems as long as people can pass by it. That's what I think.

Admins, give me your opinion on this I would much appreciate it. Thx.

Are we talking about your own respawn, or the other team's respawn?

Actually, that's one of my favorite spots, especially if your tunnel is blown. Put a dispenser up the ramp by the command point and use it to toast any spies who get past the SG. The SG will be really vulnerable to people coming down the canyon/gap. They will usually be within range of a well-thrown EMP though, so you might want to save your EMPs instead of spamming with them.
