Cheats and Scripts

I was just wondering what is considered a cheat. I was browsing the TPF site and they have some very good tips on playing specific classes. I was looking a post about playing Demoman, and the poster, a seemingly respected member of TPF mentioned this script:

alias +pipecheat "cl_pitchspeed 10000;cl_pitchdown 108.5;+lookdown;wait;wait;wait;+attack;"
alias -pipecheat "-attack;-lookdown;cl_pitchspeed 225;force_centerview;cl_pitchdown 90"

This script is for laying pipebombs directly below you. Are we allowed to use scripts like this on the ville, or are they considered cheats?

Yeah right. I heard Rob went away for a few days. You can't expect JD to be around on Saturday night. Even if he were, I don't want a drunken answer. Especially if it smells like Canadian beer.

I'd have to say that is a definate script and illegal at the ville. People have their own views on this subject though.

I'm gonna have to say no on this one. Putting pipes directly at your feet is not a "natural" part of the game.

I can think of a few uses, when placing pipes around a flag you don't have to bounce them off a wall. It take some skill to place the pipes where you want when you want. Just running up to something and hitting one button and 6 pipes appear is not very skilful.

When pipe jumping??

Those were my thoughts exactly, Rob. But since I found it on the TPF website under the demoman tips, I thought maybe it would be okay. You are right though, the ville is better off without those little scripts.
