I just got a new computer. It's an Inspiron 8500 with a Pentium 4 2.6 ghz processor, 512 mb of ram and a 64mb GeForce 4 Go video card. It also has a 15.4 in. wuxga tft screen that looks really nice. I tried out UT 2003 with all the settings turned up and looks really good with no laggyness. I will get the updates and everything I need to run Half-Life, Counter-Strike and all the mods as soon as I can, so I will see you guys in game soon! I just thought I would post this.

That's kind of hard unless you happen to have an old Gateway laptop to fit them in. I'm gonna still use my old one anyway. I don't even think you'll even want the old parts....

Thats excellent! TFC, CS, etc. will run much more efficient. May I ask, where did you purchased your new comp? And how much did it cost?

Considering I have responsibility for about 250 PCs, and about 30 servers. I would like to say that I've never had a problem with Gateway. 
On the other hand, I believe NaniteFog swears by Dell. (Whom I like, too, but cost a little more than Gateway...)
Go with what works, what you're comfortable with, and what you can afford.

I had a few problems with my gateway. Especially when trying to get it to work with a network. The damn thing wouldn't work with any Ethernet card other than a Xircom that they didn't make anymore. I had to trade it with someone elses and they had no problem replacing it with their Dell. I think you can see the Xircom in those pictures. Oh well, I'll see how the new one works. It's been working great on the network without setting anything up.
