Micron RAM

I remember micron being a good company to look for for ram, but looking at pricewatch.com the price is that of the no-name brands. Are they still a good company to look for?

I have kingston in my main box, its a little less expensive but runs good. Actually is overclocked some.

Since we are on a RAM issue, my computer takes PC100 RAM and i bought PC133 well i bought two 256 ram sticks, but now total i have 256 which i should have 512? so since it's not the right kind it doesn't work properly?

If my recollection is correct (and is should be since I have a MicronPC computer) Micron marketed its memory under the "Crucial Technology" name. http://www.crucial.com/ Not too long after I bought my comp, I added memory purchased from Crucial--it even had the Micron name on the memory cards eventhough they said Crucial on the packaging.

I do not know if Crucial is still a subsidiary of Micron because several months back, Micron reorganized many of its subsidiaries, MicronPC being one of them (it became MPC). You can also get Micron components from their online store http://www.buympc.com/.

Really though, get your memory specs and shop around...the only reason I bought from Crucial was that the Micron memory would carry the same OEM warranty as my computer since they had the same base manufacturer (and the price was reasonable at that time, too).
