I get a stupid error sometimes where i will be playing and suddenly DoD will crash and ill be back at my desktop, no DoD open. Problem (aside from that) is that I cannot connect because in server info and stuff it says im still in there

It sounds like something is seriously wrong on your machine. Have you tried a fresh install of DOD? It may be another issue but that might be where I would start.
