I am looking for some drivers for my nvidia card. As most of you know I installed a new hard drive and I am starting from scratch.

I went to Nvidia's website and all I could find was 1 general driver for a bunch of different cards. I downloaded and attempted to install it and an error came up saying something about screwing up windows XP settings or something. I installed it anyways. It did not take care of the current problems I'm having.

I would appreciate any help I can get on this. I have a GEForce2 MX 400 with 64 megs ram.

Did you remove your older drivers first and change the default back to Standard PCI before re-installing the new one ?

You do have Direct X installed ?

Version: 44.03 Release Date: May 14, 2003 WHQL Certified*<---Click

other than that I'd contact support

Same one I already downloaded Species. It may say that it's certified but it pulls up an error when you install it. I installed everything correctly or at least the way I did it with the original hard drive. I unfortunately didn't keep the old update. It got lost somehow.

Okay first off make sure u have directX 9.0 installed because those nividia drivers require that u have 9.0 installed. Oh and when they tell
that those drives aren't certified by Microsoft click Continue.

Install this first DirectX 9.0 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

Then this Nvidia drivers http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_44.03

Can u be more specific about what problems ur having?

EDIT: * 44.03 is WHQL Certified for the GeForce FX family of GPUs. Which means the older Geforce family doesn't have the certified drivers.

That's the only driver that I saw for your card BRN. Have you contacted support on this ? I would try another driver from this list Click Here

Remember that after you uninstall your old drivers to check your registry
referring to anything nvidia and remove the key.

I am still trying a few different tweaks before I take the time to talk to the morons at tech support. My Nvidia card has been awesome. I have had absolutely no complaints except for this new problem. If I can't get it fixed then I will just buy a better vid card.

just an update on the detonator drivers...that new 44.03 pack made things funky on my system on a reformat (GF 2 TI 64m DDR)...I rolled them back and got the 43.45 (if you go to nvidia driver archive area) and everything is ok now......

Same thing happened to me. Same error. That is what caused me to lose OpenGL support in XP. I never could fix it. I even uninstalled all drivers and my vid card. I was never able to fix it.

Good luck to you sir.
