I would like to see some recomandations for a good HD brand.
Features I am looking for are 8mb cache and altleast 100 - 200 gb.
I wont get a IBM or aka a Hitachi drive.
But I look forwards to your opinions.

I purchased 2 new Western Digital 120GB Hard Drives with 8MB Cache.
I am not disappointed with them. They perform as expected and after 24/7 usage over the last 6 months, I don't think I would recommend any other brand. Of course I went with the drive size where the price break was best for me. By now you should be able to buy a larger drive at a decent price.

Check that link. It gives all the lowdown. _________________ IdiotSavant

I got a Western Digital 200GB disk with 8MB cache in January, after rebate and discounts for $200 at Microcenter. Haven't seen any other deals that good so I jumped at it. Though I don't really beat it up (its just for holding all my warez) it's been pretty good so far. _________________ Support wildlife. Throw a party! |

My main drive is the same as savants. It has excellent performance. Im not buying any more HD's until WD comes out with some high capacity 10k rpm SATA drives |

I got a Maxtor drive... 120 gigs 72k speed, can't go wrong with it, and it only cost about 160. Lots of stuff can fit on it. and if you enable the quite feature, you can't even hear it. _________________

I've been running mostly WD in all my systems. Solid, reliable performance. Nuff said for me. _________________ Your suffering will be legendary, even in hell.
