Wow, TheVille.org is awesome! Anyway, I hear everyone saying they can run their's off of something like Daemon tools. Do I install off of CD first? or........ Any help would be much appreciated. |

Welcome to TheVille.
You probably install it from a disc if you buy it, but isn't there a place where you can download it? I'm not sure, but that's how the mods are installed. If you have the CD, you prolly install it like any other program. _________________

Battlefield 1942, just want to keep my precious CD out of the drive as much as possible. Do you need the no-cd patch or something? |

Maybe you should find the bf1942 website and it might tell you if there are any patches to download.
You could also make a copy of the CD to run it off instead of the original in case there is no way to do this...
Someone else can probably help you better, I dont know much about BF1942(dont have it). _________________

I think there is program like Virtual Disk...Correct me on this bros. You ill then take the BF 1942 and it will run off of you hard drive a whole image and then you can put that cd in a safe spot.
DK
edit: this will work unless it is like UT 2003 and needs the serial nu burned into the original cd to start and I have had no luck in backin up one like that. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

ok well i use CDSpace which is a virtual disk manager and from my expierence if you made an iso and are useing that it will not work but from reading CDSpace it says it keeps the cd protection which makes the cd useable for the game on virtuall drive or its bcause your registry tells it to look into the CD-Rom drive and not the virtual disk drive or the image file is not able to read it because of the protection.
My coments on no cd patch is just say no for 1 reason that patch is only good till the next update and when that comes out u have to reinstall cuz the no cd will make u loose a main file that the update reads from so i know u wanna use an immage but useing the CD might be your only choice _________________

Choose which server to enter from. At the top of the page there should be a little box that says "latest games." Click on battlefield 1942. I checked the bf1942 section and they had at least 5 nocd cracks. Remember to scan for viruses before you run any of them.
I hope that helped. _________________ -Thewz
