Website not loading for me....

Hmmm....this is a rather odd problem. Our clan website http://clan-swd.com was recently moved to a new host. For some reason the site won't load for me at all. The odd thing is that everyone else seems able to load the site, and I was able to view the site just fine on the old host. Has anybody encountered anything like this before? It won't load on any of the computers I have connected to my Asante router (built in firewall). Could the router or cable modem be the cause? Any help would be most appreciated, as I don't know if it would be possible to move the site again just because I can't get to it. Thanks in advance.

Actually, my clan site just recently moved, and I wasn't able to view it either. Nothing happened when I clicked on links to it, and I got a "Page Cannot Be Found" error when I tried to open the link in a new window. Just today, with the help of Frag, I was able to bypass the error.

I accessed the page by typing in the site IP in the IE address bar. See if you can get the leader of your clan to give you the site IP. I was also informed that after 24-48 hrs of initial access (me typing in the IP) that I would be able to view the page without using the IP. I don't know why it works, I'm definitely no internet techie.

Al lot of times your computer could be caching the old DNS info. If this is the case just restart your PC or clear the dnscache.

Depending on what OS you use there are different ways to do this. A reboot with Win9x usually solves the problem. If you are using Win2k or WinXP then go to a command prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns
Also clear your Browsers cache when you do this.

This will clear your dns and you should be able to resolve the new host.

If this doesn't work. Call your ISP and ask them when their DNS servers update. Their servers may have "stale" listings. Or you could use a different DNS server to test it.

You can point to my DNS servers if you wish.
They are: USA.PIR8.NET ip = 24.144.32.113
and also: IO.PIR8.NET ip = 24.144.32.68

Talked to the host, it takes some people 6hrs to get the namesesrvers & some people 24-48 hrs, so chen & integrel you will probley be able to use the site name today or tommorow.
