i have been enjoying tfc for the last week or so, but now i have a problem that i can't figure out. tfc starts up fine, but when i click on a game to join, i get the console screen that says "starting network"......and then it freezes. its very frustrating. i dont think its a problem with my computer, as it is only a couple months old. i reinstalled half life, but i get the same result. please help! _________________

I think it happens when WON is down, I'm having that exact same problem right now. _________________

Also, you're not actually freezing. The system is trying to contact WON to verify your ID.
If you wait, and it could be as long as 2 minutes, you will time out and go back to the server list.
Also, Dahak provided a good tip:
update the woncomm.lst file in your Valve folder...
replace the "West" server statement, under 'AUTH' to read:
198.74.33.62:7002
WON isn't actually down...the DNS server that they operate through is. Using the IP address will get around the problem. _________________
