Back in the day

My first computer was a texas instrument TRS-80... wow that was something!

monochrome (green and white) screen (actually a simple TV), tape recorder and something like 80K of memory... We then added a soft (5"1/4) floppy disk!

The next computer was a 8086 (yes, nothing between the 80 and the 86...) IBM PS2 with 40Mb of hard disk space... we would NEVER fill this much space the salesperson said. 4000$ apiece... ahem.

Brings back good memories of pitfall, bagman and megabug...

When I was 14, I was a typesetter for a newspaper... we also disributed paperback books, which I edited (and did the paste up for). My computer back then had no diskettes... I had a roll of paper, the was about 1" wide and I don't know how long, that was fed through the computer. Holes were puched into the paper to record the data you needed to save. To review the data, you fed the punched paper through the puter. It was crazy man!

The best was when the teachers used to send us to make copies of stuff. No fancy Ditigal Copiers then! We had that big crank machine with the blue ink that spit it out on the white paper. Ah...the smell...

...for those that have done it you know what I mean.

i was little but my first comp, the only thing i member is...MS-DOS, i disliked it very much, confused the shot outta me....it was crazy....this piecer ain't much better, thanks G for windows.

The first computer was an Apple IIe. Pascal roak and DOS didn't exist yet. ( i was mainly on Main Frames.)
