'Bout the only excitement we get out here is an occasional earthquake.
Enjoy the day off all. _________________ Your suffering will be legendary, even in hell.

No snow days at the college where I teach. (I live less than a mile from the campus, and I can walk here if need be, heh, silly studentz!)
Couple of years ago, we got 8 inches of snow overnight (southern Oklahoma that is pretty unusual) and we still had classes. I had a commuter student make his 35 mile drive and make it to class , but some of the students who live in the dorm next door to our building couldn't make it to class. Their excuse--"there was too much snow!". _________________

| It hasn't snowed here yet, but the temperatures have been around 0, usually below with the windchill. |

You candyasses! <sarcasm>Oooh, it's snowing... it must be a snow day... </sarcasm> man, I remember being in DC one winter, they got about 3 inches of wet snow, and let school out. Man I wish we'd get that here, every week would have a 4-day weekend!
I'm not kidding here, either:
The last 2 times I had a snow day in school were: Halloween 1991... 22" of snow with 30 mph winds.
Winter of 94-95... cold as a witch's titty! -40F or so real temp, wind chills of -80 or lower... the entire state basically shut down for 3 days because it was too dangerous to go outside. So naturally my friends and I had to go play football outside... sunofabitch! You took your 2 mittens off so you could throw the ball, and your hand hurt from the cold when you put the mitten back on 10 seconds later. You shoulda' seen us try to play nintendo after that, we couldn't use our thumbs.
And yes, I liked it |
