I don't have the time to be doing any work during the summer. If I was to be working, I wouldn't be able to enjoy having the dsl or cable. I may get bored here at home and head into the game again and get mad and go in a cycle. I definitely won't be in much next week since I will be on vacation for that week. Maybe by then I won't be too mad at my connection anymore.

I feel your pain man. Im on dial up during the summer and the best connection i get with my 56k modem is 33.6k. Im actually downloading the 11091110 patch and the cs14-cs15 mod patch as I type. I should be done in a few hours...

I don't know how it is for you, but here in Britain, British Telecom are the ones who can do the most to sort out the problem. In many magazines I see how people firstly blamed AOL, but eventually got BT to look at the land-line. I think this means the part which connects directly to the house. Often, it is old and degraded, and a replacement causes everything to be good again, even with AOL. It doesn't make a difference when using the phone, because voice calls aren't too demanding on the lines, but it would work wonders for your Internet connection. At least, BT has to check and replace faulty lines without charging the customer, but I don't know what the deal would be for you

PC 133 RAM is very affordable now. I have noticed a big difference since I crammed my machine with RAM, heheh. Being the electrician that I am I took the liberty of running a CAT5E line-telephone- and an RG6-cable tv- to my office for my computer. Your local telephone company may upgrade for you but I'm sure there is a cost, it is a dial up. Take DK up on his offer. It'll save you money on the vid card so it can be spent elsewhere on your machine. If you have a lttle bit of cash then maybe you can improve. G/L. Get back soon.

I complain about my connection all the time. I complained so much that my DSL crapped out like two weeks ago. Now I have to suffer with pig and play via modem. But you see Pig got some mad skillz due to his sniping ability. Means he has fast rxn (reaction) time. Imagine if he had dsl, hehe. PIG YOU BETTER GET YOUR DSL BUDDY!

I've got two 256mb pc 133 chips I have no use for that you can have. I also have an Intel Pro 100 PCI NIC. It should be better than DK's generic. I have an Abit MB and Athlon K7 chip. Problem is one is bad but I don't have the time to find out which. You are welcome to any of them. Just let me know.

Thank you all for all of your offers, but most of my upgrades are more going to be ones that I can transfer to my college computer, the one I am going to buy next summer. I don't really need anything else right now. I think I may have found the issue with the disconnects and "connection problems". When you are on the phone at my house, it sounds like there is a radio station being recieved by the phone. I know that cannot be good.

I don't think that my problem is line noise. I went to the site http://www.modemhelp.net/linenoise/usr/usr.shtml and my numbers were those of a stable connection.
