Somewhere from 35-50 most times, with it capped at 50. That's with a 32MB TNT2 card, on a P4 1.something.
The TNT2 is history once I scrape up a few more bucks for a Ti 4200. Any takers? Maybe we can auction it off eBay style. VilleBay!

I cannot wait till the new Sierra/Valve engine is out. Just like some of the newest engines.
I want my 200 FPS back.
(Nivida 4 ti 4600 128 mb card, p4 2.0 Northwood, 512 mb pc 2700 ram, raid level 0)

| My fps_max is 33. Any higher is too much for me. It's good for recording demos and making avi's. |

Link, not to long ago I averaged 4-5 fps. It is INCREDIBLE how much gameplay improves when you have a high fps. I'm not sure what mine is now, but after I changed my AMD K6II to AMD Athlon 1.somethingoranother ghz and my 192 SIMS RAM to a 256 DDR chip I couldnt believe how much easier it was to play. I've kept my 32 mb Nvidia TNT2 throughout the upgrade though. _________________

Any FPS above 60 your eye can't tell the difference. |

| I have a Tbird w/ 266 fsb that I run at either 1.2 or 1.33 (its unlocked), and I use pc2100 ddr (currently have 256 megs, looking to upgrade), and my gfx card is a GF2 GTS w/ 32 megs of DDR. Now I just need a connection that will match... |

I'm running a Viper 550 16MB on a PIII 450, 256MB RAM... typical fps is in the high-20's. fps is the least of my problems, though. Somehow, I still get choke of like 5-10 typically on netgraph. (right now my connection is totally down, but that's a different story) Is that because my old worn-out junk I play on can't handle the info as fast as I get it? I'm hoping it's not because my connection isn't phat enough. (I should be one of like 5 people now on a 1024Mb both-ways DSL)

Actually that's not true at all. When I upgraded from a P2-350 to my P4-1.4G I went from 15 fps in software mode to 70fps in high res OpenGL and it made a tremendous difference in my game. Everything was a lot smoother and I was actually able to snipe for the first time and hit people. |

Actually AG, I believe the way the net code works if you have 100fps you don't generate any more traffic than someone with 5fps. It's all how the engine renders the graphics to you. It's about 1.5-2.5 K/s each way. |

| I've tried setting my maxfps at 60 before to see what it looks like and I can tell a difference between taht and my uncapped fps. Now the default of 72 and the 99 I get I cant tell any diff. |

I rock out at 70 fps. I found that it works just fine for me on my fatty LAN connection. I'm running a GeForce2 MX400 64MB in OpenGL @ 1280X1024
If I'm at home, I use my Dad's monitor and my fps hops up to 90. I didn't change any settings other than a different monitor. (19 vs 17inch)
My old roomate had a 22incher and he got about 150 fps. Of course, he had a GeForce3 Ti 500 with a dual AMD XP2100+ and 768mb of DDR... |

The old netcode was effected by your fps. The new netcode is not supposed to be effected by your max_fps settings. _________________ The most hated.
