The life of an Admin on the Ville

Robert E. Lee puts out the call for admins when he finds that there is a need for more.

In the past when there has been a need for more admins they have been approached after careful consideration based on their in game attitude, experience, and maturity level.

Just play, have fun, be helpful, be considerate of others and your name may be discussed next time there is a need for more admins.

hmm attitude, experience and maturity level... rules me out on at least 2 counts for let me see, about 10 years... do think our fav pastime will still be running then ??
Pehaps we will all be into virtual machines, can you imagine that, fragging each other as if we were there ourselves ????

They have enough admins as is. Even if someone was to become an admin, they would tell you, not the other way around. It takes a degree of patience and maturity to be an admin (and a decent temper). I've only been an admin on one server, and that was on cs (i was in charge of dealing with campers and team killers

). Even if you were to become an admin anyway there are different levels of access to the commands. Technically we have some (although VERY limited) admin powers. We can use admin_userlist and we can vote for maps and kicks on tvIII

I used to host a low-gravity TFC server (T1) called [s]Mir Mirror[s] and I was the sole admin for that one. I must say that it was quite a time-consuming but rewarding job nonetheless having peeps enjoy playing on your server.

It definitely takes some amount of dedication to keep it running as well as to "police" it for potential llamas and such. Unfortunately players came and went and I couldn't find any "permanent residents" who were able enough to help me maintain it.....

... which is why I'm now here at the Ville living off the fruits of Robert & Gang's passioned labor! heh!

In case if anyone didin't get the sarcasm. It really is all glitter to be an admin. I like the fact that I can "make a difference" (sounds so liberal of me) on the server to keep our gaming experience at the highest level possible. I'm more than happy to switch servers to zap a llama and give him the sentence of banned for life!

My network admin guy who owed me a coupla favors just got laid off last tuesday unfortunately

Send me a private message if you'd like me to look into setting up a West coast server for The Ville or something!

I think there are more from europe.
And i think TV need an europe admin for us that play on other times.

I play at 8:00 PM CEST on sat and sunday, often theres no admin there then and noone is online.
