I had some issue's like that before and I had to rest my video card. Take it out clean the slot and put it back in. For some reason the VC was not getting a good connection. After I pulled it out cleaned it and blew out the inside of my box never had another problem.

Yeah, tried both a different power cord (although it wasn't the same kind, it's all I had available to me) and simpleman's video card suggestion. No go. Same problem.

Yeah, tried using my roommate's monitor, which worked fine. Looks like I'm just going to wind up taking it back to where I bought it from and see if they can do anything, otherwise, I'll see what Viewsonic can do for me.
