Front and side fans take air in - rear fans blow the heat out. That is if your case will allow it. If you are good with a dremel, you can carve yourself something. Make sure you have space behind the system to let the air escape. Also, make sure your heatsink/fan is properly mounted on the cpu. Take it off, clean the core and apply some thermal grease, then reseat your heatsink fan. You running AMD or Intel? Amd's will run a bit hotter than Intel from the get go. My cpu idles at 45c and have seen it go up to 63c during FS4, Painkiller or a slew of other power sucking games. Nanite can light his crackpipe off the cpu. My case is usually running between 35c - 40c. That is with 8 fans running. Nary a lockup in a month now.
