Ya I know theyre always be newbies, but its like all of a sudden theyre coming. And what are the chances of me playing on TV, and having to play with 3 players all named Player. Are they all in a clan, and everyone says, lets go to the ville? JK. But I had berely seen a "Player" in a while. And thats good that your friends come to the ville, the more the merrier, but those guys named Player, its just aggrivating. Oh well, I cant do anything about it.

I've got no problems with newbies, or players named Player, b/c I was a hapless newbie when I first started. I had no idea what camping was, I didn't know what spam meant...I just knew that if I stood around this one corner in flagrun, everyone ran right by me for some reason...
I was lucky that a few friends in the real world (not to be confused w/ tfc) told me some of the basic guidelines to not being an ass, because most of the people on the servers I went to treated me like trash, and then got even more angry if I did something like respawn camp at avanti, for example (I had no idea the spawn moved until I got here, just never put 2 and 2 together).
Basically, if I run into a newbie or even a llama, I assume that they're new to the game and nobody's ever bothered to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'll warn them of what's wrong and tell them what they did, and many times it works. There've been a few times when I actually struck up conversations w/ people and explained the basics of the map, where it wasn't good to go, where gren and health packs were, the cap points, etc. If it turns out to just be some jerk messing around and trying to be an ass...well, he can't say he wasn't warned and I have no regrets in seeking a ban...but sometimes all a llama needs is to be told that what they're doing is wrong. A lot of these respawn campers do it because it's the only way they can get kills...but the sooner they learn that it isn't acceptable, the sooner they'll start working on real kills...or the sooner you'll know for sure that there just isn't any changing them.
Just remember, even the best tfc player ever was a newbie once. Give em a chance, they may turn out to be the next wave of ville regulars...and who knows, they may even end up in your clan. Even if they turn out to be complete llamas, you'll know that you've let them have their chance and they blew it...and that the admins can make sure that the problem doesn't happen again.

Good God I can relate. If you look at the old logs on the ville, I could barely break even kills to deaths, now I barely die, if I die at all. I did almost always have the most kills, but also the most deaths as well lol. Going kamikaze and ending up with a skill rating of 1040 with 2300 kills and 2270 deaths is immensly fun, but immensly time consuming. |

I know in recruiting for PWG that I look more for teamplay rather than talent. I do this especially if they want to be part of OGL. Playing a map as a freelancer like myself is one thing. To play in a designed spot or to be an offensive or defensive team member is another. If anyone is wondering about joining PWG. There is a two new member limit per month. We also look on other servers for new members as well. I count on the other pimps to inform me on them since I'm here 90% of the time.
It's weird, my best map is avanti, then warpath, flagrun, and badlands if I play it right. My worst is 2fort and rock2. I hate crossover2 btw.

And every once in a while you will find a very good player named "player". They'll stab everyone with a knife and you'll see messages like "you're pretty good player!!". And then you'll laugh long and hard when Player changes his name to Frag Failure!!

Poor frag hates xover2. It used to be my 2nd best map. My best are Warpath, Avanti, Badlands and 2Fort and Well (about the same), rock2, flagrun and epicenter, and in last canalzone and hunted (ooooh i H8 that map). So if you ever want to own me, play me on canalzone, because I can barely keep a 3 to 1 ratio going. |

I was playing here yesterday with a bunch of newbies, and the attitude of the regulars was so good!
Someone would say "how do I use grenades", and half a dozen people would respond right away with good advice. (Got fragged more than a few times myself typing instructions!) And nobody gave them a hard time. That's why I love playing at the 'Ville.

I think TheVille (and other well-ran servers) attract a certain type of poeple who are just nice to play with. Ones who want a decent environment. I used to just surf the ocean of servers out there and got really sick of badmouthing jerks. Some of them are good players, but I don't want to play with them. |

ive been playin on the ville for a while and i have seen many good players who have not been in a clan but are drifters as oldman has said. i am not that good so i have by no means a right to say anything to you all about clanning and recruiting. while i was in FBI i recruited a whole bunch of crappy people off the nOOb maps well and 2fort. at first they seemed good but they sucked on basically any other map. theville seems to the best place to pick up new people for clans because you can usually find people who regulars that r good and u r able to really on. thats my 2 cents seee yall in theville
