Well you are not a overclocker so it is not worth it for you.

And you're using a Pentium, so that's a double negative on the Water Cooling. 4 case fans will have you constantly at 32°C with the default heatsink and fan that come with the P4 processor. _________________ World of Warcraft:

Is there a particular barnd name of RAM I should be looking for?? Which ones are the most dependable, fastest, etc for the MB and processor I am looking at? _________________

BRN, the Asus P4P800Dlx really doesn't offer much more than the standard P4p800. It has built in firewire, faster RAID and SATA connections....but if you dont need that stuff then you can save a few bucks.
I've had some issues with the on-board ethernet with that MoBo, and the on-board sound is fairly POS. But, its great for stability and speed. I've been running a P2.4MHz @ 3.1MHz for months now without a problem.
As for RAM, i'm running 2x512 of GeIL Discount RAM (they were about $80 each, but came with their own heat sinks!). They're fast enough so that you can overclock synchronously, I have my FSB around 1Ghz and the RAM handles it great.
For the water cooling, i have a feeling its going to be more of a pain then anything else. I'd just go with a case that has lots of room for fans. |

As long as it's not a prescott core. If it is then water cooling might be a good idea. |

| If you want some reliable RAM you could use www.crucial.com, they have pretty solid stuff there. |

I was talking about prescott core, I was looking at the temperature monitor on my second computer with a P4 2.8GHZ 800MHZ FSB Prescott core for it earlier, and since I've installed it, it has always run right at or around 32°C + or - 2°C. All it has is 4 genertic fans in a $25 Powmax case and it's default fan and heatsink that came with the processor.
For good RAM I used Kingston in my P4 system.
And ECC Registered Corsair RAM in my Duel processor AMD MP system. _________________ World of Warcraft:

Even then, I doubt it'd need water cooling, unless you overclocked the holyhell out of it. But BRN said he's not overclocking anything, so in this case, it's not needed _________________ World of Warcraft:

Yeesh. I run at about 52°C after some heavy use. Idles at about 49°C.
Of course it is on one of those hot running AMD chip and overclocked just a tad. I only have open case cooling though. _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |

I still wouldnt go with a prescott. Northwoods outperform similarly clocked prescotts in most applications. Go with a northwood (pentium 4c)

Seriously, though, the guys over at hardware analysis were less than happy with the thermal characteristics of the prescott.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course.
Oh, and another thing, what is the ambient temp of the room where you keep your boxes? My computer is in my bedroom, which is usually quite warm. |

My Duel AMD MP monster is in my room, it's usually almost up to 80 in here during the daytime, mostly because my computer belches out heat like crazy, as well as my 21 inch high def. monitor. The CPUs themselves are relatively cool, because all the heat it being shot out into my room, If you reach your hand inside you will feel very cold air rushing through and I've tied off all the cables so there is no air restriction, combine that with temperature sensing, multispeed fans, SK7 heatsinks with 80mm fans on the processor's heatsinks that overhang to blast air onto the motherboard below around the processor sockets, allso temp speed controlled. And the massive Blue LED 120mm door fan that blows in over the VideoCard and Processors and even a bit on the RAM and everything else pushing some massive CFMs. All air and heat dispersion cooled, no water. Yes it gets somewhat loud when the fans all turn to max speed when the CPUs are working full blast rendering 3D or video...but it's a workstation, what are you gunna do, It kicks everything elses butt so it's allowed to make some noise and juice out the heat.
The P4 system is downstairs where it's about 69 degrees most of the time. It resides in a computer desk cubby hole with a door, that is usually open. But the case has no holes in the front to intake cool air. It's hitting that 32C with no cold air intake, just all exhaust. I'm not overclocking it, and proabably will not. It is running fine for what I need it for, which is a public computer for when people come over and want to check e-mail/work on whatever/play games on a fast system, and as a network renderer to add it's processing power to my Duel system when I need a little extra boost and use NetworkRender and set up my mini renderfarm.
And see those guys http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1693 who didn't like it's heat were overclocking it a considerable amount, I have the P4 set to cutoff once it hits a certain temp, and it's nowhere near 171F, that's crazy, even an AMD doing that temp is crazy, they were complaining for complaining sake. Like people who give bad reviews to a piece of hardware because "It makes too much noise, so I rate this a 1 out of 5" "This processor overheats like crazy becuase I overclocked the bejeezus out of it, so I give it a bad review overall." Come on, be realistic, anyone familiar with overclocking and CPU temps would go "Well DUh it's going to be ultra-mega hot, look what speed you've got it at!!" In that case, skip watercooling and go right for refrigeration, grande expensive, uber cooling.
But like I said before BRN isn't overclocking, so all he needs to worry about is what price range he wants to hit, and whatever 4 fans he buys for the case will be fine for cooling...As for RAM, I've listed my top 2. For your system BRN, don't go for Corsair, it's expensive, good, but expensive. And you won't need it to be ECC Registered Ram because that's for special stuff only. Kingston is good, and cheap, crucial, I dunno but I'll take you guys word for it.....Go for at least DDR400 PC3200 of whatever brand you decide to get, but also check you Motherboard stats to make sure it can handle whatever RAM you're wanting to put in it. _________________ World of Warcraft:

Good stuff in here. I feel like I'm back in school which is a good thing for me.
I am currently looking at cases that will fit 120mm fans. Most I have seen have a 2 fan set up which is what I will probably do. I may cuntomize it a bit and add a 3rd 120mm to fit somewhere else just to get more air in. I figure it's not that expensive and it couldn't hurt. The ambient temp of my room is usually anywhere from 78f up to about 82f in the summer. I am not too concerned with noise, as long as it doesn't sound like a 747 taking off, if it is staying at the temp it needs to stay at.
Today I will be taking a serious look at RAM and will post a link of what I will be probably getting. Comments are of course encouraged.
Also, I am waiting for my tax return before any money is being spent. I should be recieving it sometime either late this week or next week so I still have some time to look. Hopefully I will have everything picked out when that day comes including where I am gonna make the purchase. So far newegg.com seems to be the choice but I have yet to talk to AG to see if he is aware of anyone local that is competitive. I would rather do a local purchase so it is easier to replace anything that may be bad. _________________

Size of fan matters little compared to the CFM (Cubic Feet of air per Minute) a fan pushes. The higher the CFM the better the cooling will be. You should compare the combined total CFMs of the 120mms to the combined total CFMs of four 80mm fans. Check different brands to see what combination will give you the most CFMs.
Here's my setup for my Duel system, I marked the fans in the picture with no flash so you could see them better in the flash version. the Clear 80mm fans over the procesors are Antec SmartCool temperature sensing fans, their max CFM is 41.0 at their max speed when/if temperatures reach 50C. The Blue door fan is 120mm Antec LED fan, it blows 70.6 CFM of air right onto the hottest parts. The power supple also has bottom and rear intake to help exhaust.
You could go for these http://store.yahoo.com/directron/fanal12025b.html
nearly 80CFM for $11 x the 2 that you need = $22 case cooling solved.
Here's mine. Exterior, Flash off and Flash on.
And here's the interior. Don't mind the red glow, it's just my Video Card trying to show off.
