I dont think a dual AMD/Intel MB would be available due to different standards and different chipsets and probably some other different stuff.
But maybe if you had a welding kit or soldering kit you could lay the tiny wires of the motherboard by hand thus making your own standard. Or just hammer an extra processor into some free space on your existing motherboard. Actually... just send me a P4 1.7GHz and an Athlon 1.4GHz... I'll figure something out |

Doh! He did spill forth his bowel of knowledge. Nice way to combine Intel and Athlon!

In my defence I was at work, so I most likely was hardly awake when I made that post. And I did mean to say Tbird 1.4, not P4 although the new P4 Xeon 2.0 ghz chip gives me a woodie, I doubt I can get work to buy me a server to play with. Besides, if they did I would just have to ship it down to Rob to be TV4!

Yeah 2GHZ is worthless unless you have a butload of memory to compliment it. But it gives me a woodie, too.

What in the world would you do with a 2.0 gHz?? (Besides ship to to TV4, of course) Personally, i think my p3 800 is too fast. I dont have any fancy software or anything to require that sort of speed, and besides...i like to be able to think faster then my computer
Oh....and i don't understand the woody/processor relationship...sounds kinky. |

Well I just got a new Dell Precision 530 workstation at work, Xeon 1.7 GHz, 1GB RAM, dual 40GB drives, dual 12xCDRW/8xDVD drives, and a nice 21" monitor too. It's done before I click anything! Too bad the net it's on doesn't have direct internet access, else it might just become TV4!
Luckily my home system isn't too far off, P4 1.4GHz, 512MB, nVidia Ultra3 DDR 64MB, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, etc.. <grunt grunt grunt>

Wow. Those are some nice systems. I just bought a 1 gig 128mb RAM 17"monitor. And I just figured out today that I can't hook it up to a cable modem .

Cip,
There has to be a way to hook up your modem..
All you should need is a NIC and the install software for your modem. The NIC can be bought just about anywhere (Network Interface Card.. looks like a modem w/ wider jack) and your ISP should be able to hook you up w/ some software if you lost that.
At least this is how DSL install works.. God knows I've had to install that stuff about a dozen times.
Oh, and since everyone else got to brag about their comp... 1GHz Tbird, 512MB, 32MB GeForce2, fancy MS internet keyboard, MS optical mouse. Oh yeah and I have the case that Alienware used a while back (the one that slides up and down like hydraulics). All hand-built by me, by ordering a dozen diff parts from a dozen diff Internet vendors. That is all.

It's not a problem with the computer is a problem with the existing cable wires in my house. They ran a whole new line just to get it to work where it is now. So it looks like im moving on up to DSL. Yeah Baby.

Oh no when LilBigCip gets dsl run for the hills there will be no stopping him
I'm running a 1 gig athlon with 512 memory and matrox G-400 thats going bad (hides wrench behind back)..Honey I think it's time for a g-force card. Dsl is nice but princess roofcutter is downloading every mp3 video on the planet and it sure is impacting ping rates. Oh well if you see me shooting at an empty spot in the map kindly step into it for me.

Well, you wont have to run very far if he's shooting into empty space. But while we're on this topic, it would be interesting to incorporate fatigue into TFC (kinda like firearms maybe?) I can already see llama HWs passing out from chasing after scouts and losing their energy. hehe...actually, i'm in favor of ANY way to watch llama NWs pass out.. |

[autoreaction]
It's only people who lack skill who complain about HW's

[autofollowup1]
Any idiot can kill an HW - but u must be skilled to so so

If HW's were such newbies, surely they'd be easy to kill
