Yeah Turbo! the only way you could turn your base into a fretless is to buy a fretless neck and put it on.

Yep, that's really the only way unless you are going to fully customize it and that would not be worth it on a squire.
Do you have a bolted neck or a neck through bass? Meh prefer neck through myself. It has a much more solid tone to it. If you have a bolt on, then you can just switch it out no prob. Again, I wouldn't attempt to do that on your own unless you are good at repairing guitars. It seems easy but it's not.
Fretless basses do sound awesome! Good luck with it!
Musician's Friend is an awesome place to shop. Me and my bandmates just purchased a ton of stuff from them and it was not only cheap but there is no shipping charge on most items. We got everything within a couple weeks. Still have some Tama tom arms/clamps on backorder. From my experience, I would recommend that site. _________________ Recipient of POTM award

The only reason I took the frets off was that it was a cheap Sears bass. I don't recommend that to any bass of value. I had the neck start "warping" some after I took the frets off. If I was serious about making it fretless. I'd see if I could buy the matching piece either fretless or shaving it down to avoid warping. I'm not big into the value of guitars. I'm more about how they sound. _________________ Yes, I'm still around
