On purpose or not, he is responsible for the bat he uses. He'll get a nice 5 game suspension which will make him cold yet again. You'll get to see more 3 and 4 K outings for Sam-me. He is teh guilty!
Don't worry June Swoon tm is here and you Cub fans will see the fading pennant dreams wash away. See Chicago fans know their team won't win. So it's more fun seeing the other team lose and rag on their fans about it. |

I find it so reassuring at how quickly everyone has decided that Sosa, first of all, purposely chose to use the corked bat; and, second, that every home run he ever hit must now be questioned.
I at least waited until MLB completed their preliminary investigation. And, as it turns out, all 76 bats confiscated - save the one which started this whole thing - we free from cork. *The first time anyone having a corked bat has had only 1*
Also, the placement of the cork was much lower. Normally, a bat is hollowed out, the end, then covered back over. This bat had the cork put just above the handle. Even if it had been proven that cork improved the reaction of a ball, this would only provide for a stronger reaction of balls the would most likely be grounded through the infield. The lower half of a bat is not normally strong enough to stand up to the energy needed to hit a home-run.
Regardless, I will offer Sosa the benefit of the doubt after considering all the preliminary information. And I believe his 505 HR were with non-corked bats. However, I might tend to question whether or not there were issues with steroids.....even though, up until last year, they were not all illegal, either.
Just my 2 cents.
I suppose I am more upset at the fact that everyone has simply decided that everything he ever did must now be questioned because of this single instance, and it was all done without all the facts.

Not to mention the 5 bats he has in the hall of fame are clean and also the 3 bats that are in the Field Museum here in Chicago are also clean, 86 > 1.

Sox won 12-3 today on national TV.

Yes, my girlfriend is a Cubs fan. She sent me some stupid link from the White Sox losing a game in 2004. It makes no sense. She still even blames Bartman for the loss. Anyways...
