Yepers!!! Some of my friends in Fort Worth have SBC, too. And have had no problems. So its sounds like SBC finally got things going right.

omg... my isp just dumped me off onto some other one, and the "switchover" was a nightmare... omg i hate tech support idiots, my dad finally went to the local office because the phone support was worthless and busy half the time... they changed every aspect of the account imaginable, however they didnt feel the need to inform US of anything, so while i sat on the phone telling the dude its a problem on thier end theyre still goign with the "did you try to unplug the modem and then plug in in again?" gah... AND THEN! the woman my dad talked to and finally found out the account was all changed around suggested "well maby your kid changed the account" OMG i wish i was there, ohhhhhhh i couldve given her a thourough talking-to... grr well its pretty much over with, pings are usually pretty decent, so the moral of hte story is the internet is bad ;> heh[/quote]

Well im actually just north of chicago in arlington heights.

And Guess what? They are now trying to bill me for the old equipment they say i didnt return, the same stuff i was told to take to my new address(Cable Box, and Cable Modem). Also just got billed for this months phone service even though i canceled it last month... Aggghhh!!!

What a royal pain in the ass. I dont have time for there crap. I am really thinking about canceling them all together and going with Wide Open West. They really went to Hell with the latest merger.

Im going to keep complaining to Customer service and see what "Free Stuff" or "Help" I can get.

Please if you can offer me any help, I REALLY NEED IT!

you jinxed me. I havent had a prob with TV1 and ping forever. Today was the first day that I had 500+ pings to TV1 when all other servers were fine..... #Fist

I hate to say this. WorldCom is now moving to the old name of MCI and expect internet delays since they pwn most of it.

Me and Warpig haven't been having major problems with our internet, but there have been some. I think it was last week there was no service at all. 2 days ago, while playing TFC, i all of the sudden was pinging at 600.

So Comcast hasn't been a major issue, but I still say #Fist to them

Up in Alberta CANADA the ride on High Speed is 99% always on and always fast.....your problem in alot of areas down south is jam packed nodes as Comcast jacks up prices....I feel for you guys....move to CANADA.......new lines new equipment good customer service...not like Comcrap as they 3rd party out the tech side.......people who make minimum wage dont care about your connection and you cant blame them....

Comcrap called me to day on me cell phone. They had a great offer. 40x quicker than 56k and they said they will be 20x faster compared to my DSL.

[EDIT my DSL is almost at T-1 speed]

And I will get 2 months free.

Then I went off on the sales lady.

20x faster than my dsl so what speed do i have? Sir it is just faster it is cable brought to you by the best cable provider in the usa

Well so i am no looking for what 20mb upload and 200mb download and it is still cheap and easy?...sir i did not say that

DK...lmao.....I bet that poor girl quit right after that phone call.....I had a guy call me once about credit cards and I tried to pull a Seinfeld on him by asking for his home phone number to call him back because I was busy....he hesitated....then he said he couldnt do that...so I said, "well then, how about your cell number"...another pause...then he said " I dont have a cell phone, I have no money, why do you think I am doing this job" and we both laughed.....but if you really want to piss Comcast off...the next time they phone, just tell them to hold for a minute and put the phone down and walk away...the caller is not supposed to hang up as they are monitored 3rd party systems....any call over 7 minutes and they lose money.....capish....
