Greebo showed me this new map called Wrath. The concept is very similar to Avanti and the level design is just freakin amazing. It was quiet humbling to just run around the level admiring the structure and texture work.

The basic premise is this: 3 flags exist in the cathedral. One team must retrieve each flag (in order) to 3 different capture points. Once the flags are secured in various places in the town, the defending team must try to bring them back to the cathedral (in order). Respawns locations dont flip-flop like in Avanti, but they change according to who has posession of the flags.

Any chance on getting this map on TheVille? It would definitely make a good map for the next custom map night. But if you got lost in Breakout... prepare to REALLY get lost in Wrath (for just a little while though).

Give it a look, and post your thoughts:

As cstone said this map is architecturally STUNNING
The atmosphere is captured prefectly - there's even monks singing in the cathedral - and u can hear a kind of battle going on outside the cathedral [which was strange cos I was the only one there ]
Anyhoo
Yeah this map is one we gotta play sometime, truely brilliant in every way.

I have to agree we have to play this map. LOST, just a little while?? The Cap signs helped a lot during my test runs. There is even a passage into the church that a demo can take care of. I really like the way the transporter works. It's more like a movie effect than a typical Half-life transporter.
A building inspector wouldn't buy the spiral stair case design. HaHa.

Just describing to anyone where you are will be quite a chore.
I think a better description would be TFC meets Indiana Jones.
The detail work is so good even if you never play it you should still download it and look at it.
I wonder if he/she got the stained glass work and other items from the game Requiem? Looks a lot like it.

Dude, I looked at the screenshots and it looks awesome, even Old-styled catholic-like. Definetly looks complex, with many routes.

Damn, that's another five hours of studying to figure out new techniques to implement with rocket-jumping, sg-placing, pipe-bomb trapping, and sniping. Gosh dammit....

WOW.. It's a very impressive looking map. Cadman and I played a two man lan game to get a feel for it. It looks like it could be tough!! We may have to give this one a playtest!!!

D/l the map, poked around, and loved it - will be fun to test. Just one thing - seems pretty intensive on sucking up the resources- will those with middle of the range pc's be able to play ???

Well, I was cruising around in Wrath, I thought that was a very well designed map. Very intereting and a lot of gismos around, kind of strange map. In fact it's a lot like Breakout, with nice ideas and everything.

But the bad things about these two maps are that they're too complicated and try to put too many things in it. I think the reason why a lot of us like avanti and warpath so much is that they're very simple. It's all about skill when confronting players and not about hide-and-seek. if these two maps can be simplified a bit, i believe they would be the best maps around.

Also, why can we do away Badland??? It's such a bad map, barely any action going on cuz it's so big. Either way, hope the mayor can do something about it.

Breakout is complicated and has too many things????????
Please explain
I thought it'd been kept quite simple
