Audioslave is just great, IMHO. That song slipped my mind at the moment. I'll go along for the shortbus, but don't expect for gas. I'm broke enough as it is.

You Canadians may pay a bit more for gas, but your health plan is covered by your gov't, which makes extremely inexpensive giving you plenty of extra money for gas. BTW you guys drive cars up there? I thought everyone had dogsleds.

Too bad our income and sales taxes are a bitch.

In Fort Worth, TX it is $1.70 for medium grade, and no we dont use horse drawn wagons still.

I remember when it was $0.79 for regular unleaded just 4 years ago.

I'm taking it in the shoot like Shaft. I think it's nearing time for a revolution. If some governments in Europe tried to tax their people in the manner they've done to us here, people would be turning over cars in the streets.

Being a mathematics and science teacher I cannot leave this one alone. The following is in no way meant to be an attack on anyone, only the brief lecture of a college instructor clarifying an issue.

Actually, the official measurement system in the U.S. is the SI system and has been since the early history of the country. Benjamin Franklin introduced a bill to adopt the metric system as the official measurement system early in our history. Conversely the "Imperial system"--the U.S. actually uses a modified Imperial system, but we won't go there--has never officially been adopted as the measurement system of the U.S.

"The Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988, amended and strengthened the Metric Conversion Act of 1975, designating the SI metric system as the preferred measurement system for the United States." (see http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/policy.htm) Officially, the the United States (specifically governmental) has been metric since the mid 1970's, with a more complete transition around 1990. (Think about how many metric measurements are in any car you bought from the mid '80's on or the dietary labels on food products given in grams). The "inch" and the "pound" and the "gallon" that the many still use in the U.S. is actually "defined" by the metric system equivalents--for example, 1 inch is defined as 2.54 cm.

To quote one of my colleague, "We have a legal measurement system that is not commonly used, and a commonly used measurement system that is not the legal system."

BTW this is why when you are in college, chances are you are taught sciences (hopefully completely) in the metric system.

Now back on topic...

Gas is $1.589 US here-----------------------------per gallon (doh! )
