We are stay at home types too. We watch all of our movies on VHS or now DVD. The kids were all raised on all the movies. We would explain that it was not real and how they made it all up. They have grown up pretty stable they know what wrong and right is and whats real and whats not. So I think that not only does the way you react and present things to young people control there reaction to it. But also how you treat everthing as it is presented to them in this TV world. There are plenty of real things they need to know about and that some ARE horrible and terrible and not made up.
So to hide the made up and real and not explain it to them until there beyond the formative years is a error in my opinion.
