Well, I'm gonna split it into two lists... one for beginners, one for veterans...

Beginners: (To be able to not embarass yourself)
Engie: SGs shoot no matter what
HWGuy: Hold down "fire" and hope
Soldier: Shoot rockets, reload, die
Sniper: Can camp in safety
Spy: Disguises are fun
Medic: Fast and infectious
Demoman: Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam
Pyro: Flaming Spam
Scout: 2-37, here I come

Veterans: (to be quite a killin' machine)
Soldier: More skill=more frags
HWGuy: See above
Sniper: See above
Spy: A good one can control a game
Medic: Can be quite dangerous
Demoman: Aimed Spam is tougher than random
Engie: SGs are #1 on everyone's (s)hitlist
Pyro: Ask anyone
Scout: Caltrops kill very slowly

You think just like me.

ok I gues the first one was my beginner list so I'll make another for experts or just to be talented at the class

Solly //point and shoot rocket, throw nades
Sniper //only condition is hand eye cooridination
HW //anyone can point and kill, not anyone can point and kill the whole team before dying, I hate you YPAWOM!
Medic // fast and can conc jump, and actually have real nades
Engi // Sg's are easy to build, hard to protect
Spy //Being sneaky is tough, just changing clothes is easy
Demo //anyone can spam, but can you actually spam and hit something
Scout //conc jumping and avoiding people is a pain in the arse for me atleast
Pyro //still hardest, easy to be annoying with though, hehe

Ranking them this way is very inconsistent also. A good soldier a little more than point and shoot and throw nades. Watch EagleEyes and tell me anyone can reach that level of mastery the fastest. For Sniper, hmmmm watch Krayonz play and tell me thats one of the easier classes to master. Your hardly crediting the lower classes you picked. Every class specializes in something, and every class is difficult to master. No fair not giving credit where credit is due. When you master every class come back and then rank them.

Simple to hard...

Scout: Run. Drop sharp metal object. Run back. Get cap.

Medic: Same, with stronger weapons, slightly slower speed, and the ability to heal and infect.

Sniper(Assuming you have a good ping): Exactly as YPAWOM says. Press button. Strafe. Release. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Engie: Fairly simple once you know good places to set your SG and dispenser and can use an EMP.

Spy: Terribly simple. Disguise yourself, run towards the enemy. There is only so good you can be at acting like them, nine times out of ten if you get cought it's not your skill but how good they are at spy checking.

Pyro: Run around like a chicken with your head cut off, use your rockets for long range, Flamer for close range, And toss nades randomly. Not too hard most of the time.

HW: People gang up on this guy. Yes, One on one, he usually wins. One on one fights are rare against a HW. Plus thier speed makes respawn time to the time they get to the enemy base take a while, and also moving while firing does very little. (No matrix dodging for you!)

Solly: The rockets are harder to use than one would think often. Soldier is part anticipation, so it can be tough.

Demo: Ehh... I thought about having this as the first, because simple spam is not hard. However, only about half the Demoman i've seen are just spammers, and they are actually honest skilled Demo man, as in, they can use those blue bombs and not die in 3 seconds.

RandomPC: Your sg and neo stuff doesn't stick, you are always changing, so you can't get used to anything, plus, you may last a while as a class, get used to it, then wind up something else, and get all confused.

Just what i think.

I think Chen has a good point (not just because he mentioned me ). I think hardly anyone has mastered all classes, so how would you all know which is easier to master than others? And for those of you who have mastered them all, did you keep track of how long it took to master each class?

Just my $.75 cents.

Demoman
Soldier
Sniper
Engineer
Spy
Medic
Hwguy
Pyro
Scout

From easiest to hardest to Play (For me).

Oh and I have to stick up for Demomen. There are some good Demo's out there that can go one-on-one with any class and kill them, with pipebombs. Notably are J, blown65, Dahak, and hal0. Of course Not saying BeanDaddy and Albino Gibbons can't, but I rarely see them use PipeBombs.

Jeebus, gimmie a break I know I havn't mastered any of them, and maybe mastered was a bad word choice anyway. It was my opinion from my perspective on what I have the most trouble getting better at. I suck at light classes cause I can't conc jump worth a damn that's why you see them at the bottom and I do much better at heavy classes cause.

I know it takes longer to master some than others and i really wasnt' talking about mastery, more of reaching a 'good' level of playing as oppose to the total suck fest i exhibit for the ones at the bottom. Get off my arse:lol:

I started a new thread, to help clear up some of the confusion as to what criteria to use when ranking.

mmmkay...here's mine
From Easiest to hardest to kill people, IMO

Engy- All you have to do is figure out that you can't keep beating on your SG and not get packs
Solly- You can usually kill people regardless of skill
Demo- Can you say spam kills? (no offense to the skilled Demos out there)
HW- You have crazy armor and ammo, but no speed at all
Sniper- Point and click (not that simple, but it's pretty easy to kill with if you're ping isn't too high
Spy- As long as you can stay alive, your knife is golden for frags
Pyro- If you can stay alive, your rockets are almost as powerful as the sollys, and you leave them in flames
Medic- You have to play offense and defense at the same time, and be able to use all of your weapons
Scout- Can you say hard? Crazy fast and no armor/ammo/weapons/sense...The C-bar is the strongest weapon they have

"For average joe that plays" I mostly agree with snags order..

There are two things though.
Your ping time can be everything as regards kills and deaths.. If your ping time is high and you go up a lpb, chances are your not going to survive, no matter how "skillful" you are at a particluar class, or how "easy a particluar class is to play"

Random is THE hardest to play. Though not a true class, going from a speedy gonzo scout, to a slow boat fatty in a bat on an eye lid, and get kills takes some patience and concentration.

There are only two peeps who "I've seen" (that bit is important) that are any good at Random, Cycdad & Fingerdemon.. oh.. I'm not that bad at random now either...
Ap.

I think that all are equally easy *to play.* And, only those people who have actually tried to master all of them can really give an educated opinion in this thread as far as the easiest *to play well* goes.

I have played all. I have only tried working on about three, so I am not qualified to say which is the easiest to play well.

Another thing to note is that each class has different abilities. With pyro for example, I may good at flombaying ass, but not so good at killing with nades. (Side note... I suck as a pyro.) So, that is another thing... but I guess to be great with all of a characters specializations is mastery of the character.
