KRG, I believe you want your models to be in the *.mdl format. That's the only type of model file half-life will accept. Then its just a matter of creating the correct entity, and putting the path of your mdl file in the "mdl path:" property in World Craft.

Um, let me know if you need help!

Lightwave...heard of that.
Never used it tho.
It probably suffers the same problems with converting models as 3d studio max does
i.e. it can't.

make sure you build a cage somewhere in it so admins can teleport unruly llamas into it. btw, let me know if you need any help with Worldcraft. You can see that I am pretty decent at it now if you check out my screenshots from page 1 in this thread.

Well, the fact that we can't convert our Lightwave models to .mdl format is a downer. I am most affluent with Lightwave. WorldCraft uses an entirely different language. Now I am forced to use WorldCraft entirely so that will no doubt slow the process! email me at mwhaling@satx.rr.com Any help at all is much appreciated.

since you cant convert them in lightwave, caould you export them to a different editor such as Milkshape3D or 3D StudioMax? i know that you can convert model to HL form using both of these programs. anyways, here is a link to polycount's HL modeling tutorials. they only cover the 2 programs listed above, but there might be something helpful in there for you.

You definitely can't use 3D studio max - it's in the WC documentation somewhere.

Or at least you can't convert from 3dsm to wc, might be able to go the otherway tho.

are you talking about making models or making maps? I'm pretty sure your can use 3DSM to make in game models, at least it says you can do it at polycount's tutorial section.

I only know Lightwave 6 and Byrce 4. I don't think either of these formats will work with worldcraft though. If there's anything simple I can do to help. Just let me know...

Greebo, I didn't know that WCs came with operating instructions. Here in the States we just know how to go to the bathroom. How a WC has anything to do with mapping...I'm stumped.
