well what i did was: after downloading, i opened the file and there was a DOD file with seperate folders//files inside of that. what i did was open my current steam folder C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YourEAMIL\Day of Defeat\DOD
and put all the files the download had into my DOD folder.

for example: if the download had a folder that said 'Models' i would try and find a folder in my DOD folder that said 'Models'. Then i would open it, and copy all of the files from the download into the current folder on your comp. If it asks to over-ride or rewrite an existing file, say yes.
If you cant locate a folder in your DOD area, just copy the whole thing.

I hope im making sense of all of this, im a horrible person at giving directions on computers :-/ Tell me how it works out!!

EDIT: or you could just do as Stevo said, and read the README.TXT file!!!

clay, it might also be cause he shrunk the image down and the aspect ratio isnt correct. he had to make it fit in the thread so thats probably why.

it happens alot, especially when a screeny is in bmp file format.

Um actually bmp files should have almost no distortion, as they do not utilize compression. That is why they are so darn huge. Bitmaps are the most accurate non-vector based graphical files iirc.

I lilke the bullet hits. the puff of mist is pretty cool.

I shoveled someone and it was the same or little different. I have to check and make sure all the files were installed.
