I will add a litlle something. Near the Hill on Anzio, there is a little building with a house facing the ramp of axis respawn. IMO, shooting ppl coming out of the ramp from this window is ok.

Paddy I disagree with you about the ownage of me.

Back to the topic, I think that the window on the beach is compareable to the window on the hill. Why do you think that there is a difference between them?

The window over the beach overlook directly the spawn point, which is not exactly the case with the Hill wondow. What I meant with the window on the Hill is that it overlook the last flag on the Hill. If you start shooting ppl which are way back in the respawn area from that window, it is wrong. But if you shoot them when they exit the ramp near the flag, well I think it is ok.

Now I'm thinking though.... when I see somebody in that Hill window, I often switch to sniper and snipe the player from the spawn area. So in a way, I'm unfair.

If it's you, I don't care

That is a tough call being in that window. With the rules set up as they are now it's almost better that you don't go into that window, it leaves you open to hosers like Paddy . However if he misses the shot then he's fair game

One thing is sure, last night I was missing all my targets

I sucked big time. Probably because I played TFC the night before and my aim was off.

Too bad there wasnt a way to close both windows Like modifying the map file.

I have no idea how to do it or I would. But it would also have to be done without having to download a new map. Like the ville's custom avanti.

If players could keep their shooting within the play-zone, then the respawn areas as layed out on this overview seem reasonable: Anzio overview

As you can see, this means you could shoot down into the Axis plaza as well as onto the Allies beach, but just not where people don't even have a chance to get out of the way.

I say just put it in the MOTD, and before they enter the game they have to acknowledge "Yes that they understand the rules here with a link to a screen capture pointing out what is illegal" after this then they are eligible for a non-retracted ban if they don't abide by the rules. Simple as that !

This crap has been goingon long enough!

Newbie or Noncompliant ? Ban them all and let God sort them out if you ask me ! Problem solved............................ <EOM>

Scuse me, but that is quite wrong. ALL THE BEACH IS NO MAN'S LAND. Why? Because I won't start arguing with a spawn killer which is saying he had a right to shoot since the victim was one foot further than the spawn zone on the beach. The solution, all the beach off-limit. Period.

I don't even see why players felt the need to shoot at the beach, apart from increasing their score. Well they simply have to improve their skill level instead. I NEVER SHOOT AT THE BEACH, and I almost always have a good score. You can defend the last flag without shooting at the beach. If you can't, well practice your skills.

DoD is like the Survivor TV serie: Outwit, Outsmart, Outlive. Not shooting at helpless players on a beach.

Newbie or Noncompliant was a "QUESTION" BRN... Are they new or are they just acting like one due to being busted. Cycodad put it best......

Having a visual explanation here on the website will differentiate the difference between the two. If they can setup HL they can tell the difference IMHO......

I have a issue on Forest. This has only happen once with a player named Texas Rebel. First time around we(Allies) had flags 1-3 and were going for the final flag. TR would go past our flag 1 and camp outside the arch that leads into our respawn. Now all of you know it is some distance from respawn to the flag 1, so what exactly is to gain by camping outside the arch other then to get some cheap kills. After like a couple dozen deaths by my team, we finally killed him.

Second time around the Axis had flags 1-3 this time and again TR was camping outside the arch of our respawn. For the most part you respawn around the corner next to that tank, but sometimes you respawn looking straight out towards the arch. TR would shoot these players as soon as they took a couple of steps towards the arch. Again it took many deaths to finally get him. On this instance I should of post his info for banage, but he left shortly afterwards.

So my point is what do you guys feel is the NO MAN'S LAND here. Obviously there is no point going past the enenmies flag 1 to get cheap kills. It kind of reflects what Paddy said about the beach on Anzio. The enenmy can easily take and defend your flag 1 without using the arch for target practicing.

I think I agree. There is absolutly no need to be that far in the map. However, I don't think we will see that happen very often, as it is not easy to get that far in the map without being killed.

questions concerning anzio and forest:

on anzio i was on axis and capped the allies first flag. i stayed in that area killing everyone who walked passed and everyone on allies was gettin mad at me because they said i was spawn camping. i didnt think i was spawn camping because i couldnt see the beach and i was protecting a flag. is there anything wrong with that??

on forest i usually bust out my sniper rifle and kill anything that moves. every once in a while... well a decent amount of times i push up to where the axis bunker is (the one to the right of the bridge on the hill, and this is assuming im on the allies) and start sniping from there. is this legal, and also if i were to go into the axis tower and start sniping from there would that be legal too?

There is no problem with protecting the flag you capped, as long as you don't shoot at the beach. This happens also at the Hill (last flag to cap when allies). Then you shoot people as they enter the flag area, but never shoot down to their respawn. What piss me off sometimes is those who stand behind the beach door (second beach exit of the allies). It is legal, but they are not protecting anything except than having easy kills. But hey, it is legal so I guess they have the right to do it I usually clench my teeth and go back the other way and insert a shovel up their a.... anyway. #alien

Sniping from the bunker is certainly ok, since you don't see the exit from there. From the tower..... well I think it is ok to do, especially since there is another exit for them to take.
