PCI AGP. . . bah! See, I have an all in 1der. . .So adding new hardware is not an easy thing to do. I have a GForce3 but I can't install it because I have AGP slots. .. no PCI. I am holding onto it until I can build a new system.
I would say GForce is the way to go. I have seen them all work and they are work horses. _________________ Recipient of POTM award

Well, believe it or not, I actually was at a party with a VP from ATI last night.
They have been shipping - since Aug. - their newest card w/ 128m of RAM.
Only downside is that they retail for $700.
*Trying to work out a way to buy direct from ATI, then I can get all you guys great deals on video cards. * _________________

I'm running the NVidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400. I'm sure the price is very reasonable by now and I have not had a single problem with it. The graphics are great. It has 64 Megs of RAM and in game I run at a rock solid 60fps. I would recommend this card to anyone. _________________

If you want the best and have money to burn go with the ATI Radeon 9700/pro it's the fastest most powerful 3d card on the market, and it puts the Geforce 4 Ti 4600 to shame. Unfortunately it costs $600 Canadian.
The ATI Radeon 9500 pro is another very good 3d card. It shares the same graphics core as it's brother, the 9700 pro. It's supposed to be priced about as much as a Geforce 4 Ti 4400, but it can just about outperform the Ti 4600 at higher resolutions.
Although the Geforce 4 Ti line of cards are very good too, the Ati cards are much better.
If you're looking for a mid-class card go with the ATI Radeon 8500 LE. It has 128 Mb of memory costs about 200$ Canadian and performs better than the Geforce 3 Ti 500 which costs about 250$ Canadian and only has 64 Mb of memory.
So Remember:
ATI radeon 9700 pro = $600 Canadian, best 3d card on the market 128 mb memory
ATI radeon 9500 pro = approximately 300-400$ Canadian (i'm not sure, it was just recently released and I haven't had a chance to check the prices) and it is supposed to be able to rival the Ti 4600. has 128 mb of ram
ATI radeon 8500 LE = $200 Canadian outperforms the geforce 3 Ti 500(which costs more for some reason) and has 128 mb of ram
