I was just thinking about this, and I wondered if anyone had ever thought about the different monikers we choose for ourselves when we play these kinds of games. I also wondered what it would be like to snort an ant, but that's a whole different story.

Anyways, I was just wondering if other people had thoughts like mine, and had wondered why someone chose their name.

I chose mine cause it's the name of an angel (no not cause he's gargamel's cat), he exists in the judeo-christian faiths, as well as islam. he is not particularly feared, even though he's the angel of death, because he has no malice, unlike Munker and Nakir, who will torture you in the grave until you turn to islam.

But my point is, I was wondering if others would share why they chose their names. Thank you, I'll shut up now.

Originality, was looking to have a name no one else would ever pick. In the 3 years I've been playing I have never seen another Bright Red Nipples.

My Grandfather sent me a model of a RA5C Vigilante right before he died, so I've been using Vigilante for everything since about 1998. Once in awhile I'll throw in RAM numbers, like 256 or 512.

Did anyone see Saint Sinner on Sci-Fi channel? It was this movie by Clive Barker (Hellraiser)..Anyway, the 2 Succubus women demons in it were named Munker and Nakir and they grabbed dudes and sucked their guts out the back of their head through a hose or something and spawned foot long maggots.....they looked like Turbo-skanks and were always covered in slime.

Hrm...well the name is of a cat from Terry Pratchett's discworld novels.
Was ages upon ages ago when I decided to use it.....buggered if I remember why.
Now it's just habit.

Well, when I was first introduced to Team Fortress, a friend of mine had gotten tired of playing and gave me his CD and installed it for me and showed me how to play. He chose the name DukeNukem, and I never changed it. Don't know why.

I have considered changing to Delusions of Adequacy which is a quote from a very good friend of mine when I was in college (eons ago).

We had a mutual "friend" that thought he was something special (ego-maniac). We were always accusing him of having "Delusions of Granduer". One day we were especially tired of it and my friend finally pipes up with, "Paul your problem is you keep having these Delusions of Adequacy". We laughed so hard we had to change underwear. #Rofl
It is now one of my favorite sayings.
