i went past the fire station, in my town, on the way to work. all the fire fighters have blocked of the doors to let the engines out, with there cars. locked the back entrance gates, and have got caravan's and lil tenty thins. and there all sat around n well doin tha stuff you do when on strike.

already there been a few deathes..... just on the first night there was 3 deaths in fires. i didnt see the news yesturday, and i havent seen it yet today to know what the figure is now.

Yes! During eachof the strikes, we won't be able to use the hall's kitchens, or go into parts of the building after certain times in the evening. GG 11% raise-rejectors.

Hey Bobs, sorry to hear that.

It really pisses me off that people have to hear about stupid ass people who are a sorry excuse for firefighters. I can only imagine that the strike is about money, and I will tell you that NOBODY becomes a firefighter because of the paycheck. Take it from me, I am a volunteer Firefighter and I do the same exact stuff for FREE. My payment is to be able to participate in a great proffession as a hobby (Plus I get to drive a really big truck that makes lots of noise). These idiots are there to do good, stop fires to save property, and to SAVE peoples lives. The minute they stop doing that they should all be fired (no pun intended) for not doing there jobs.

For them to strike and actually let people die in fires should be a crime punishable by death.

Sorry for the rant, but you can see that it hits home. I agree that Full time FF's are not payed enough, but it is not worth human life.

i agree, there's already been a fair few deaths... is been all ova tha news.

a whole family... died last night. a mum and 3 kids

and the army is strugling to cope.. cos there not trained for this.. and there usin green goddesses ( army fire engines from tha 70's)

but tha government is concidering givin tha army permision to cross tha picket lines, usin force, to take the firefighters fire engines, by force if neccesary.

so it looks like it may just keep gettin worse b4 it gets better.

i agree that they should get a pay rise.. but there asking for a 40% rise... yeah thas rite.. 40%... how could any government afford to increase wages by 40% in one go.

i didn't actually know this was a subject to be jokin about...

basically the UK has virtually NO fire cover.. and already there have been rather alotta deaths that could of been prevented if this wasent happenin.

and is rediculouse... it was said on tha news today.... just how much a 40% pay rise for the firefighters would cost

£500,000,000

equipment?
