why aliasing?

One of things I like of playing here is entering a server and see familiar names, like Dahak, Hoaxie, Roof, My Crotch

, Trigga etc... to name a few, all players I often see and team with or pit against.

However, I realized some players use aliases, and I wonder why. I mean, I understand if you want to try sniper and you know you will suck at it you may want to be incognito, but otherwise, I find it disapointing that someone "hide" under another alias. Gameplay experience is lessened IMO.

So list your reasons folks!

I use a new name almost everyday. Sometimes I will change to VeilSide in game and sometimes I'll just continue to go incognito. It's usually because I don't always feel like being noticed. Dahak enjoys pointing me out everytime with his tracker h4x though

i like changing names at times just so that i can have fun and trying out new names for makes my skills go bettter

... i use lots of triple crown horse names

.. weather they be male or female names its kinda fun to see new names around... makes for a challenge to some and gives them a break from there normal names

ppl normally don't reconize me until i switch to Gala or horses which are my 2 main names i use most!!

everybody knows it's me when I'm aliasing. Maybe if I don't use names like Galvanized Rigid Nipples it would make it harder to spot me?!? Personally I don't understand it either. I agree with you about seeing familiar names. When you see familiar names in game it makes it much more enjoyable. I come here to be amongst friends.

I like aliasing, it gives me a chance to heckle snipers and soldiers while playing scout/med like normal. But everyone recognizes my now notorious "Soldier, so easy to use....no wonder it's #1" bind. So I try not to hit that one. Otherwise...I have about 5 aliases I normally use. Most of the people I want to know who I am...know those, or can figure it out pretty fast. I don't see it as hiding, but a cover for you to play peacefully under. When people started to know one of my aliases, I changed to a new one. And if you really wanted to know who I am....check my WON ID.

Actually, I rather like it when someone I don't like plays under an alias. It gives me a good excuse to ignore him.

I sometimes use an alias, but only if I don't feel like talking. But I usually end up talking anyway, and my binds get me worked out. I tend not to use an alias specifically for sniper practice either, although it would save me a lot of shame and embarassment

Cuase it owns to get called a cheater by person after person because you know how do bhop and conc alot when playing under some stupid alias.
