Question for Rob:
How are the clicks on the banner ads monitored? How does the ad company know which banner is clicked. Is it done by cookies or is their some other method that is employed.
The reason I ask is that I know many people use cookie filtering software, and some companies either filter or completely disallow cookies. (At the school where I work, my office comp has cookies enabled, but the general public use comps do not.) I have been running a little test here in my office--when I don't allow cookies, clicking one of the "good" banners sends me to the FocusIN web page; when I allow cookies, clicking of the "good" banners sends me to the page indicated by the ad. Does the Ville still get credit for the click that sends you to FocusIN or with no cookie set is the click not registered?
Several days ago, there was a discussion in these forums were you stated that very few (like only 9) clicks had been recorded, well I know that I clicked from work and home every day during that cycle, so I should have had 8 recorded clicks in those first days of this month. Basically, I want to know do I have to reset my cookie filters at work and at home for those clicks to be registered? And I bet that I am not alone in this situation--and I definitely want my clicks to count for The Ville!
Now a question for everybody:
HAVE YOU CLICKED TODAY? _________________

well, the thing is, you really not only have to click an ad, but you have to sign up with an email address so they can spam the crap out of you.
My suggestion is to open up a hotmail/yahoo/free-mail account, click, then register. That is what helps patronize the ville through banner ads. TV gets ad money when a perspective customer registers with the advertising company. Thanks for the inquiry gindapoo and I hope that ginda jr is doing well! _________________ JohnCarter, Warlord of Mars
