How can I log on to the game by using the ville's IP address and not going through the game features of refreshing and having to find the site?
Thanks |

You would need to dl and install the halflife protocol file from the files section(as long as it is still up). Then if you went to current players and to the server, you can click on connect to server. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

Well, you can connect using the Console as long as you know the IP address of the server you want to get in. On the very first screen (where you can select Multiplayer) there is a button that says Console;. After you click on this it will bring you to the console screen (where you can also access it in-game with the ` key [left to the 1 key] there are multiple console commands you can do in-game as well) in the console screen type in: Connect (IP)
Then press enter and it will log you into that server you typed.
For example if I want to get onto VilleIII I know that the IP address is 66.136.74.252 so after going into the Console I would type:
Connect 66.136.74.252
Then press enter and I will get in (unless it is full, if so you can type Retry and press enter and it will automatically attempt to get onto the server again)

If you were to connect through the console it would be easier to just type in these commands.
connect tv1.theville.org:27016
connect tv2.theville.org
connect tv3.theville.org
That would all depend on which server you would like to join. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

I just have buttons on my desktop named "1" "2" and "3"
Go into properties and edit the target line so it automatically connects to the sever you want.
Ex. Here's my target line for TV 1
C:\Sierra\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game tfc +connect 66.28.71.25:27016
Replace the drive with yours and the IP with that of the server you want to connect to. _________________

Ibis,
Take a look at the top of this page. One of the tabs is labeled "Current players". If you go to that tab and click on the server you want, it will show you who is on. Then all you have to do is go to the "Connect to Server" box and click it.
Of course, I think you had to download something first before that worked....
Someone technical, expound upon the gist of my post. _________________
