I am going to give you spammers a lesson in the art of graceful spamming. Some people are giving us artistic spammers a bad name.

Now... Roofcutter is a huge spammer! KRG... another huge spammer! Me... oh yeah... I am spam! But... there are a few distinct differences between us and you.

1. We very rarely start threads.
2. Most of what we post in existing threads is relevant to the topic. (I can post in an off topic thread like no other! )
3. We do not use a thread like it is a chat client. In other words... you generally won't see a thread in which we are having a conversation with just one other person throughout an entire thread. (We have PMs or a chat client like ICQ, etc. for that.)
4. Rather than posting 2, 3, or 4 posts back to back in the same thread, we use the handy little *edit* button and add on to our existing post.
5. We do not set out specifically to spam. Our goal is to comment. We do not make it a mission in life to spam these forums. We would never take pride in the fact that we had posted 30 or 40 messages in a day. (well, KRG might. )
6. We do not start new threads on a topic that is already going on in other threads.

KRG and Roof... if I missed anything, please chime in with your artistry.

These forums have become overrun with spam as of late. It is getting sickening. I mean I like spam as much as the next person... but not when it is force fed to me.

Just say no to spam!

REPLY by ROOF:

You are correct one big hoax! I always try to glam on to anothers post just to keep the spam down.

Good points and I think they are a pretty good set of items to reflect on before posting.

Thanks for the loan of a cornor of the soap box one big hoax, you...

A lot of spam also discourages people from reading a post. If it's full of spam or people chatting, I usually just move on to the next post. I do start threads sometimes but they are usually things like new maps, announcements, or something to help the community. I don't post things like, "Fart Funny" or "Teehee". Some people only have a few moments a day to post to these forums and I can understand how their posting would look like spam. But the others (you know who you are) have no excuse for all your spammy ways! I am almost to 2,000 posts but I have also been here for almost a year.

Remember, it's all the spam that made us now wait to post back to back posts. I wouldn't want to have to wait 5 minutes between posts!

Spam? How about the off topic king?

ME!

Who else can make the Ville's longest running topic at 55 pages and take full credit for it? To take this even further off topic. We will really have all of you in our hearts and minds while the few of us are in VEGAS! We really will...well maybe not. I'll be thinking of my drinks, getting drunk, women, and lots of food

Then type in the status window

Yeah, what OBH said!

And to think, if I wouldn't have slowed down (yes, I did slow down) my posting rate, I might have been mentioned with the truly 1337 forum spammers... I hereby vow to post more so I can be as 1337 as OBH, KRG, and ROOF.

Hoaxie, wouldn't this be a new thread? Wouldn't it also be specifically for spamming? Wonder what JD thinks the best machine gun is?

....And say no to poll outbreaks either!

To bring this back on topic for the sake of Hoax:

I myself have 300 posts or something like that and have been here since December. But many other people are passing me and joined in May or even June!!!! When i first started out i hardly posted, but had i, i would only be 350 or so now. And a lot of the posts by some are completely pointless. But this is what i ask, you people can spam, when and only when the topic created was a spammy idea. But when people are in need of help, I think it is better to help or leave the thread alone instead of finding a fast way to get those counts high. AND edit posts. Theres a reason for it being there i believe. Tee hee hee

Hey Link your sig is causing me to lag when I scroll the page. Is it on your end or because of the temporary server the forums are on?

It kinda makes me lag too, I'm changing it as I speak so it is a smaller size.

BTW, sorry for the off topic posts.

[EDIT]I changed my sig so it 1/5 the size and should be less laggy. It looks bad now, but oh well.[EDIT]
