I finally upgraded to XP, but now I can't play TFC.
It says my video card doesn't support that OpenGL screen mode.
It doesn't matter what size I use....they all say the same thing.
I have an Nvidia GeForce 2 MX400
My card handled OpenGL just fine for the last 8 months...what did XP do to make it not work? If this keeps up....I'm going back to ME...
I'll take crashes on a random basis over not getting to play anytime...
If anyone has any idea what might be going on, I'd appreciate any insight. |

I you are using the same drivers from you prev os, they wont work. Your video drivers need to be for xp or win 2000. Trust me I dealt with similar driver issues. Mine was a damn sound car ddriver.
Since you can get online got to Nvida and look for xp/200 drivers.

Snaggle... Sometimes the 9x version doesn't work with Windows XP.
I think you should try the XP driver. |

If you can be bothered, do a clean reinstall. Upgrading to XP may be good news, but a clean install is even better news |

Yeah, I had some minor issues when I first upgraded to XP, but trust me, once you get the little driver snags out, it runs like a Dream.
You should yell at WhyBkuul on AIM, and have him hook you up with his 1337 skin programs. My windows looks spiffity sharp with the neato skinz and stuff I got. No more Fisher-Proce windows
Hope everything gets straightened out! _________________ I WAS (back in august of 02) just better than you, thats all.

There right Snag you need a new driver. XP is NT based not 9X based. If you can't find an XP driver for your card use the 2000 driver. It will work better than the 9X driver. If you experience a lot of problems you should do a clean install. If it's just video though the upgrade is fine with a new driver. BTW I had the same problem with my GForce 3 until I got a new driver. _________________

I don't know a thing about XP's Directory listing. I am assuming like all of
the previous OS that this one is no different and has a window\system *.*?
Go and locate XP's windows/system/opengl32.dll and put it somewhere safe if you need to restore it.
Take your video cards GL file called Opengl32.dll that is located on your video cards Driver disk and copy it to XP's window/system directory.
Reboot
See if it worked. This has worked with other games refusing this dll file.
If it did not you need to contact your video cards tech support. |

OSU is right, if you want to stop feeling like you're taking a trip to Sesame Street, let me know. I've learned a lot about customizing XP.
