Being good is one thing. I can handle someone coming in and gaining 10 frags for every death. I think everyone one knows that there are higher skilled players out there other than the ones on the ville. I don't think that two of our admins would both see some HW/soldier running faster than everyone, and then both be wrong in banning him. Running faster than other people has nothing to with skill. I would imagine that he was asked, then warned. He probably ran his mouth off and then got banned. I bet some people who where on that night could vouch for Robert and Frag.
As far as the Admin_mod, there are hundreds of servers out there running it. With him being a suposed admin I find it hard to believe that he dosen't know about these third party tools. |

Out of curiousity, are we allowed to use script bindings? Like for rocket or pipejumping? I found one on planet unreal for a realistic spy feign but I haven't used it yet for fear that it might give me an unnecessary edge. I used to like going 44-0 and backlining it but now I find it more rewarding to pyro and medic. Now I average almost 4:1 but I can really help out my teammates.

I find it VERY hard to believe that Paul would run his mouth off. He gets so hung up in a game its a challenge to even get him to speak!
TPF Phoenix was THE most popular TPF enforced server in its time. But the admins decided to lock in due to the amount of complaining and whining people do on it (Mainly about chasing, too many people on D and other such undeterminable things). They may (I hope they will) re-open the server again after a little cool down periode. Bunnyhopping was reduced to 140% normal speed. And although I do not speak for Paul I do think that if he was hopping (he learned it just before to patch to see what it was like, and I haven't seen him do it since then) I think he would stop if an admin asked him to. Admin_Mod is a very evil tool, in the wrong hands (your's) people can alter files in the half life folder or even reformat someone's computer if they can figure out how. Now if the server DIDN'T have admin mod on it he would have kicked and banned at most. But coming into someones computer and altering files is a VERY bad thing. I will be flagging this server to all I know, telling them that the admins mess up people's configs.
I'd like to see a server log of Paul mouthing off. |

It *IS* possible for someone to reformat your PC, you just need some knoledge in a few things. And even if someone is cheating it doesn't give the admins of ANY server ANY right to alter files "critical" to playing a game on their computer. On your part a kick/ban would suffice. Changing configs is crossing the line.
And even since the admin couldn't go into spec mode to be even more certain, I'd expect them to go a little easier on everyone.

Well, I am done debating things in the planetforums forum with Mr. GoD!, I really love this comment from him "PLAY AT OWN RISK-- YOU MAY BE MISSING THINGS WHEN YOU'RE DONE"
Apparently he doesnt know how adminmod works, doesnt want to know, doesnt care to know or listen.
If he chooses to boycott here, I think thats fine with me. I have asked others to visit and come to their own conclusions as I hope everyone has a mind of their own.

Does it matter what I know or do not know about admin mod? If you can alter someone's game critical files you can remove binds, thus they'd be missing these when they're done.
I've admined several admin mod enforced servers before. I know what its capable of. If the default version of admin mod only lets you alter cfg files and such, I know there are hacks to alter that you can change any file on someone's computer. This may have been with older versions, but I know it was possible. |

God, have the admins on tv ever reformatted someones hd? No. So PLEASE QUIT YOUR BITCHING! Paul broke rule no. 1 by disrespecting others, that alone suffices for a ban. If you don't like it then by all means steer clear of tv, we already have a ton of people who play on the 4 servers every day. If you don't like what the admins did to paul that's your problem, find someone who gives a damn.

Thats what I'm doing with this boycott silly! Finding people who give a damn. Which I'm quite sure a lot of people will once they realize that admins can and will mess with their binds for hopping and such. If you don't want them to hop, tell them or get rid of them. Don't foce them to stop by ALTERING THEIR COMPUTERS. If someone were to go through and completely create their own cfg files from scratch by hand, then get them all messed up by an admin who doesn't agree with the way they play, who is in essence trying to force their ways upon someone, I would be VERY pissed off (bunnyhopping is a VERY debatable issue, just read some of the threads over at the Planet Fortress forums to see with your own eyes).

I'm not complaining about an admin enforceing server rules, I'm complaining about an admin altering someone's cfg files with absolutley no right to do so. If an admin doesn't like what someone's doing don't change their cfgs to fix it, get them off the server. Who knows how long some peopel spend customizing and creating their own cfgs, only to have them messed up by an admin who could have just as easily kicked the person.
THAT is what I'm boycotting. THAT is what is pissing me off.

And I'm boycotting the server, not the message board. I'm trying to get this straightened out, and as from what I can tell I haven't broken any rules. I'm here to discuss what happened, I just felt that some of Paul's friends should know about this, so they can defend their buddy. |

God life's a bitch. Live with it. Your not gonna agree with everything that happens. All that the admins can do is mess with the cfg files. Do you want to know how to fix the problem? Reconfigure them. It's that simple

Your attempt to lure me into a 'pissing contest' are laughable. All I said is that with admin mod hacks people can do a lot of damage to your pc, I NEVER said that TheVille's admins are hackers. Hell, I didn't even imply it. I'm just trying to make you understand that YES, with admin mod (and some hacks, not sure if it was taken out in the last version) people can really do so damage to your pc.
Just because an admin *CAN* alter the cfg's doesn't mean they *SHOULD*. |
