I took 2 AP's last year, my sophomore year (Chem and Bio). This year I'm in 4 (Stats, US History, Euro History, and German). Next year I'll be in a few (Physics, BC Calc, AB Calc, and Environmental science). Add Varsity hockey, ultimate frisbee, and a girlfriend that lives 2 hours away and you have me, a stressed-out 16 year old.

I can safely say, I excel at underacheiving in college. I'm on academic probation because I failed a class I didn't care about. I'm in my third year, and I have 2.5 left (at least) if I want to graduate this decade. I had a 3.76 in high school, and never had any homework I couldn't finish in class, but now I have a 2.32...I know what I'm doing, I just don't try. Except in English. In high school I tested at near genius levels, but I don't apply myself to anything but music. I got a 28 in english ACTs and a 36 in reading. Overall, I got a 28. My advisors at school wonder what I'm doing here. They can't figure out why my test scores from High School don't reflect my test scores in college. Hmm....can anyone say HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS? Of course, there's that whole thing with not doing homework when I don't feel like it.....oh well. |

Borg the only thing that matters is that you are working at it. I can't tell you how many times I've bitched at myself in college for my lazy academic work ethic and how I could maintain a 3.90+ GPA if I applied myself. If I spent as much time studying as I do screwing around on my computer then I would certainly have a 4.0. It's all work man thats all it is. |

I'm in the same boat you are Snag, at least the part about not trying in college... I'm in my 7th year, trying to just finish my 2nd degree... For those 7 years, I've averaged more than a "full load" per quarter/semester. I've taken over 200 semeseter credits, and I only have 3 classes left, including 2 this semester, and I could care less. My first 5 years of college I had a GPA of 3.7+, now it's dropped down to about 3.4... I just wanna be done. |

Heh Borg, hang in there....it all pays off. Do well on your tests and you'll save yourself some cash in college. I took 7 APs within two years. End result? 28 credits under my belt when i got into a college
Saved me a lot of time on those introductory courses. Now if I could find some way to test out of this damned thesis |
